A demon's child requires a huge amount of mana and nutrition to grow up healthily in those three months which is usually provided by the father if not the deprived child starts seeking it from his mother which takes a tole on the mother's body
a failure to receive mana and nutrition regularly could lead to serious health issues and low mana core to develop in the demon child which may result in a weak low level demon to be born but sometimes somethings can be way too extreme if the baby doesn't get any mana to develop his core or nutrition to keep up the growth.......... the demon's child unfortunately may die due to lack of it
in asahi's case, carter is the demon lord, hence, his child is bound to be powerful since birth and he is but the baby got already weak after transporting his mother to his original world to avoid the crisis
