Chapter 4

After a fresh bath, getting rid of all the blood smell, Seokjin walked to concubine palce. It's almost mid night so there aren't many people. He entered the room with a smile but frowned when taehyung looked at him with fearful eyes.

Taehyung was sitting near the table, writing something. As soon as he saw Jin, he quickly tried to hide them which was utter failure.

"Stop then and there and hault your actions" Seokjin ordered. Taehyung stiffened in his place. Jin walked and took the papers which taehyung cried and shook his head not to see. Jin glared in return before yanking the papers away, Walking to the bed while leaving taehyung to sob.

Jin inspected the papers. They are letters.

"To eomma and appa"

Eomma.. I'm sorry. I made emperor angry and he is going to punish me. I know you'll be invited to my funeral. If you come here don't cry for me. I have hide three cats in garden.take them with you and raise it for me. Love you eomma and appa.

Ajjumaa.. you never allowed me to call you ajjumma.. now I can call you since this is the last time. Sorry I lied to you and raised cats against royal rules. Hope his majesty won't punish you for that. I'll try to tell majesty but if he didn't ask me, you tell him it's my fault. He can't punish me since I'll already be dead.

"To emperor"

I'm sorry majesty, I lied to you, raised cats and angered you. I don't deserve to live. But please don't kill my cats and give them to my parents. Please.. Please..

Seokjin can't help but to smile. He killed someone who tried to hurt his concubine. But his concubine already made up his mind to die and even wrote last letters for his beloved ones.

Seokjin looked at taehyung who is still sobbing.

"Taehyung" Seokjin called. Taehyung ran towards him, bowing to ground while holding Seokjin's foot.

"Court lady ajjumma don't know anything. It's ok if you don't tell about my death to eomma and appa. Please don't kill the cats. Please.. please don't tell appa you killed me because I cheat on you" taehyung wailed out.

Seokjin's heart softened at the sight of his concubine crying. He placed the papers aside and lifted taehyung. Made him sit next to him.he gently wipe the tears with the pad of his thumb, lifted taehyung's face by lifting chin up. Taehyung looked at Seokjin with teary eyes.

"Please don't kill them... 🥺🥺🥺"

Seokjin sighed.

"Who told you I'm going to kill anyone?" Jin asked slowly, making taehyung's eyes widen.

"Wh..what?"

Seokjin was about to answer but got interrupted by a knock followed by his eunuch voice. Jin went out and came back within few seconds with a fruit basket in his hands. Taehyung frowned. Was that food mixed with poison? He was happy that it's not gonna hurt. He can eat and sleep. He'll die while sleeping.

Jin chuckled when he saw Taehyung looking at the basket with doe eyes. He placed the fruit basket in the table next to bed. He sat on chair and looked at taehyung.

"Go head and have it." Seokjin ordered coldly. Taehyung breathed out. Accepting his fate, he take the velvety cloth off the basket. Taehyung's eyes widened.

He looked back at the emperor. Jin was looking at him with poker face.

"Ma.. majesty..."

"What? Don't you want them?"

Taehyung's eyes widened again. He shook his head.

"Then have it. They are for you. " Jin said. Taehyung looked at him with atmost shock. The man chuckled. Taehyung's eyes teared up again. He jumped Jin and started to cry. Jin gently ruffled his hair while drawing smooth circles over his back.

"I'm allowing you to have them with you. But you can't let them go out of this palace. If anyone finds, I can't guarantee its safety. Understand?" Jin asked. As soon as he came out after killing the man, he ordered his men to find the cats in garden. It's a rule not to have pets inside the palace. But who dares to question when it's for taehyung and the majesty allowing it? But not wanting others to find the special treatment for taehyung he told them to bring them it in the fruit basket. Jin don't want others to get jealous over taehyung and hurt him in anyway.

Taehyung nodded while still sobbing. Jin pulled him off and wiped the tears off taehyung's face.

"Why are crying still? I allowed you to have them, ain't I?"

Taehyung looked at Jin.

"Are you going to kill me tomorrow? 🥺🥺"
