I am indeed skilled with the blade, yet the arts of the sword I possess are not for wounding others but for personal defense; to me, this staff suffices as a sword substitute.
Contemplating this, a knock sounded from my room's door.
"Aksa, breakfast is ready, wake up..."
"Just a moment."
"Are, are you perusing an adult magazine? May I take a look too?"
"How could I possibly have such a thing," I retorted, opening the door to reveal Miss Heliet's figure standing before me.
"Don't be shy."
"I'm not shy at all."
"Anyway, come down quickly before the food gets cold."
"Alright."
I have lived here for two weeks now, and for some reason, I've grown quite close to her.
"Today, we have fried rice with sunny-side-up eggs, I hope you're not tired of it."
"No, we eat this all the time... could it be that the teacher is unable to cook anything else?"
Miss Heliet turned away, her cheeks glistening with sweat.
"Well, you see."
"Next time, let me cook, and please wear a bra under your clothes... when I wash yours, I never see one."
"Forgive me, I'll be more careful in the future."
In the house where just the two of us lived, we alternated chores, but when it came to cooking, my teacher always preferred to do it alone, even if this was the only kind of dish she served. I wish someone could teach her, considering she is 900 years old.
For now, let's not let the food on this table go to waste.
"Now Aksa, I've run out of ingredients for my potions... could you find some plants I need in the forest, some are quite rare so you might have to enter the dungeon to find them."
"I don't mind, what about my training?"
"Let's do it tomorrow, besides, you're already proficient in basic magic so there's no hurry to start on intermediate, advanced, or higher levels."
"If that's what you want, teacher, I cannot object."
"A devoted student, haven't I told you that I love you, Aksa."
"You scare me," I said, covering my body with my arms.
Silence fell between us until Miss Heliet spoke again.
"Aksa, I know you are kind-hearted and do not wish to harm or kill, but sometimes it's necessary to protect someone. I don't want you to realize this only to lose something precious that can never be returned."
"I'll consider it," I replied, bowing my head slightly, eliciting a small smile from her.
"Whatever happens, whether you turn to evil or remain good, you are still my student... remember that, and I'll always support you."
"Well, I have no intention of turning evil anyways."
"I was just trying to say something cool like my teacher once did."
"That's called plagiarism and also, was my teacher previously on the side of evil?"
She stuck out her tongue, confirming it was true.
I grimaced at her as I enjoyed the food on the table, then after finishing, I picked up the basket and a piece of paper Miss Heliet had prepared.
It listed several types of medicinal plants we could use for healing potions, not only providing magical gear, my teacher also prepared various concoctions.
If there was something I wished to do, I wanted to make her store bustling with many visitors. I landed on the ground after a brief flight in the bright sky with my staff.
I wore a pointed hat like my teacher, not only as a symbol that I was a sorcerer, but the hat also doubled as a limitless storage space for whatever items I wished to carry.
I used it to stow my staff, for traveling while carrying it is quite bothersome.
