Episode 6

This was a barren stretch of land on the outskirts of Antares. I pushed aside some overgrown weeds and discovered a slime creature hopping towards me.

Slimes, known for their apparel-dissolving properties, made it unlikely for any woman to take on such quests, whereas men often opted for less perilous missions. Essentially, this was a job seemingly meant for me alone.

The slime clung to my face tenaciously; with one forceful yank, it hit the ground. I hastily wrapped it in a thin cloth before striking it with my stick until I could see the spirit of the slime ascend to the heavens.

Slimes, with their fragile bodies, were easily destroyed this way. I pressed upon the wrapped creature and extracted its entirety into a jar, repeating the process until I achieved my goal. With the task complete, I returned to the guild to collect my earnings for the day.

A few hours remained before six, so I bought a bag of apples to take home.

"Welcome back, Aksa," the sorceress languidly greeted from her store. From this day forward, she was to be my mentor; I suppose I should start referring to her as Miss Heliet.

Miss Heliet let out a soft sigh while twirling her index finger, seemingly despondent over the lack of sold goods—only my sword had found a new owner, as the magic tools and potions still lay untouched on her shelves.

"I've brought apples, would you like some, teacher?"

"I'd appreciate a few, please peel them for me," she replied with a small smile.

"You ought to do it yourself."

"Hey."

I handed her an apple, keeping the rest for myself.

"Today has been exhausting, I think I'll turn in early."

"Of course, good night."

I ascended to my room on the second floor and secured the door as a precaution. Miss Heliet might find it unsettling to discover my absence from this space.

As I lay on my bed, I envisioned the countenance of the Goddess who had brought me to this world. When the clock hands aligned at 06:00, I found myself in the modest abode of the Goddess.

It resembled a traditional house constructed of wooden planks.

This realm was known as the Goddess' domain. I observed a buxom woman tending to her garden—her characteristic blue braided hair and white gown unmatched.

Her name was Goddess Nermala, she with thin lips, elongated eyebrows, and striking blue eyes.

"Aksa, is that you... have you come?"

"If there's time, I always wish to come here."

"It pleases me to hear that. Would you help me garden?"

"Absolutely."

I set to work, digging a small pit with a trowel to nestle a tomato plant seedling. The Goddess' domain followed its own unique timeline distinct from the human world, therefore even prolonged stays here merely amounted to minutes in my own realm.

Goddess Nermala spoke,

"How fares life in your world?"

"Well, it's a delightful, though dangerous, world. I've encountered kind souls, one being Vivia Legal."

"I was somewhat concerned when Aksa you chose to reside on the outskirts, but it seems all is well."

I offered her a gentle smile as I covered the soil over the seedling.

To me, Goddess Nermala epitomized qualities often sought in mature women: beyond her ample bosom, she possessed a profound measure of maternal care.

I still remember our first meeting; upon learning of my former life in another world, she wept for me, embraced me, and comforted,

"You've fought hard, Aksa, hueeehhh."

She was indeed a tender-hearted woman, even though, at the time, I hadn't actually perished.
