The Chase

The moment Y/n noticed the phone camera aimed at them, her heart sank. Panic surged through her veins. One photo just one and the whole world would know that Park Jimin had been spotted in a club, with her.

Y/n (whispering frantically): “Jimin! If they post that online, it’ll blow up! You’ll get caught!”

But Jimin didn’t look worried. Instead, he calmly leaned back in his seat, eyes glinting with mischief.

Jimin: “Relax. Let them take their shot. The night is young, isn’t it?”

Y/n (angry): “Are you insane? Do you even realize what this means?!”

Without hesitation, she grabbed his wrist, pulling him up. Their sudden movement caused heads to turn, whispers spreading like wildfire across the club. Some people recognized him instantly, gasps echoing as phones were raised.

Y/n (thinking): This is bad. This is so, so bad.

Jimin, however, walked with an unshakable confidence, his hand tightening around hers. He led her toward the back exit, moving swiftly through the crowd. Y/n’s pulse raced not just from the chaos, but from the fact that he wasn’t letting go of her hand.

Outside, the cool night air hit her face like a splash of water. They hurried down the dim alleyway, their footsteps echoing against the pavement.

Y/n (panting): “You You can’t just brush it off like that! What if someone really recognized you?!”

Jimin (grinning): “Then it means they got lucky tonight. But… so did I.”

His words left her stunned. Heat rushed to her cheeks, and she quickly looked away.

Y/n (thinking): Why… why does he sound so serious?

Before she could reply, the sound of hurried footsteps came from behind. Two men with cameras were following them paparazzi.

Y/n (shocked): “They followed us?!”

Jimin cursed under his breath. Without warning, he pulled her closer, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as they broke into a run.

Jimin: “Come on. Trust me.”

They darted through narrow streets, past neon signs and late-night food stalls. Y/n struggled to keep up, but his grip on her hand never faltered. Her heart pounded not just from running, but from the warmth of his touch, the closeness of his presence.

Finally, Jimin turned a sharp corner and led her into a quiet side street. He pushed open the door of a small, run-down karaoke bar. The inside was dim and empty, smelling faintly of alcohol and smoke.

The two of them stumbled into a private booth, breathless. Jimin shut the door behind them, leaning against it with a sigh of relief.

Jimin (smiling): “Safe. For now.”

Y/n (snapping): “Safe?! That was reckless! You could’ve ruined everything!”

Her voice shook, not just with anger, but with fear. She didn’t even understand why she was so worked up why his safety mattered so much to her.

Jimin’s smile faded as he looked at her, his expression softening. He stepped closer, closing the distance between them.

Jimin (quietly): “You’re worried about me.”

Y/n (flustered): “O-of course I am! Do you know how dangerous this is for you?!”

He leaned down, his face only inches from hers. The intensity in his eyes made her chest tighten.

Jimin: “Then why didn’t you leave me back there? Why didn’t you let go of my hand?”

Her lips parted, but no words came out. She was trapped by his gaze, by the sincerity in his voice.

The silence between them was heavy, almost unbearable. Her heart hammered in her chest, and before she realized it, Jimin’s hand gently brushed against hers again.

But just as the tension built

The booth door rattled. Someone was outside.

Voice (muffled): “I think they came in here!”

Y/n froze, her stomach dropping. The paparazzi had followed them.

Jimin’s eyes darkened, his playful smile replaced by determination.

Jimin (low, to her): “Stay close to me. No matter what.”

The door handle began to turn.
