The Wedding Proposal

My finals are over. I’m not eagerly waiting for the results because, I don’t plan on joining a professional college. I really want to open a bakery, in fact, a large chain of bakeries all around Los Angeles.

I have saved up some money by myself, and I’m planing to start my first bakery with that cash.

Firstly, I should ask dad’s permission for opening a bakery and Secondly, Mama's guidance with the recipes.

While all these thoughts were running in my, I was returning back home from the departmental store. Yup! I was there to buy some supplies mumma had asked as dad and Alex were busy.

When I reached my place, the tall gates opened and the security guard greeted me. I greeted him back and noticed the presence of a huge, shiny and sleek black car in our driveway. Assuming it to be one of dad’s partners, I directly went into the kitchen to meet my mother. I kissed her cheek and she kissed me back.

“Who’s come mumma?” I asked her.

“Mr.Salvatore and Lily are here to meet your dad sweety.” She replied.

“Who’s Lily mumma?” I asked her, having no idea who Lily was.

“Lily is James’s wife, or better Lily Salvatore and her husband James Salvatore are here.” She chuckled at me and replied.

So, Mr. Salvatore’s name is James and his wife is Lily. She has a very pretty name!

Mumma asked me to take care of the garlic bread in oven and left to catch up with Lily. She told me that both she and Lily were best friends just like dad and James were.

When the timer went off, I plated the garlic bread and kept it on the table right a minute before my parents and our guests came down for lunch.

Mrs. Salvatore seems to notice me first. She comes closer to me and greets me by kissing my cheek.

“What a lovely child you are!” The minute these words come out of her mouth, I automatically blush and everyone in the room chuckles at me, causing me to low my head down in embarrassment.

“Thank you Mrs. Salvatore.” I manage to slowly squeak overcoming my embarrassment.

“Aww! She’s so cute!” she squeals earning a nod from Mr. Salvatore.

Then we all take our places on the dining table and our house help helps us in serving.

After the lip smacking lunch, we took our seat in the living room because they wanted to discuss something important with me. I wonder what?

Mrs. Salvatore turns to me “Bella, my girl, I know this is sudden and we all won’t force you to give us a positive answer, but Sweetheart what do you think about marrying my son Marcello?” She asked.

I was startled by that question!

Me?

Me marrying him?

Tears started pricking in my eyes and I couldn’t stop them.

Mrs. Salvatore worryingly holds my hand and asks me the reason behind my tears.

“I want to open a bakery… bu.. But if I get married then how will I open open?” I completed. Hearing this all of them look baffled.

“Sweetheart, even after you get married, all of us will support you in opening your dream bakery… we will together decorate it with rainbows and unicorns.” She smiled while telling this to me. This immediately brought a huge smile on my face.

“Then, is that a yes Sweetheart? Are you ready to marry him?” She questioned again.

Since I was too shy to open my mouth and answer, I nodded my head with a small smile.

She then told that I can call her and Mr. Salvatore as Mom and Dad.

Finally everything was discussed and decided that my wedding would be in a month and before that, I will have a date with him soon.

Oh yeah!
