“Aus, it really hurts”, cries a scared little Ivy.
“It’s okay Ivy, don’t cry. I’ll give you chocolate when we reach home okay”. Little Austin tried his best to calm her.
“Aus, stay with me okay. Ivy is really scared.”
“Yes, my little princess. Aus will stay with you. You just sleep now”.
My chain of thoughts was broken by the nurse who came to give Ivy’s bag which I left at the doctors consulting room. I took the bag from her and sat next to Ivy.
I couldn’t stop staring at her scar. Is she really my little Ivy? How can I find it out? Maybe I can find something in her bag. Ehh… Is it okay to search a girl’s bag without her permission? What will she think about me if she finds out? I was hesitating a lot to take that bag from the table.
Okay, this is not the time to hesitate. I finally made up my mind and took the bag. I was about to open it but was caught by Ivy.
“What are you doing with my bag Austin?” I saw Ivy staring at me with her sharp eyes. You dumbass, why did you had to search a girl’s bag without her permission? Even my mom would get angry at me when I touch her bag without her permission.
I cursed myself for doing this when I know it was wrong. I don’t have a choice but to lie to her.
“I’m sorry for taking your bag without your permission. I was looking for the contact information of your family so that I could inform about you.” I finally spoke what came to my mind and looked at Ivy who was prepared to tear me apart.
I didn’t know what she was thinking. She was angry the minute before and now the intense of her gaze suddenly went from anger to melancholy. I was little relieved a bit but was worried at the same time. She tried to get up from the bed.
“Hssss… Uhh…” the tube connected in her hand made it difficult for her to get up alone.
“Ivy, be careful.” I kept the bag on the bed and made her sit. She pointed at the bottle on the table as she was having trouble to speak. So I took it and gave it to her. She looked at me again after drinking some water.
“No need to contact anyone. I can manage it myself.” She said in a stiff tone.
I looked at her for a while and nodded my head. The room was filled with silence and it was making more awkward between us. Many questions were already running here and there in my mind and I felt like I would blast like a balloon if I didn’t get answers for them. So I decided to break the silence and talk to her.
“Ivy, I have something to ask you?”
