A Wish That Will Never Be Fulfilled

A Wish That Will Never Be Fulfilled

One-Shot

Third Person PoV

At a flower field somewhere in Tokyo, there was a couple, two boys, that are taking a stroll and talking amidst themselves as they held hands.

"Ne Bokuto.." One of the boys, a ravenette, asked quite a bit hesitantly. The other boy, who we now know as Bokuto, hummed in response. "Do you think we could get a whole field of dandelions when we get married?" Bokuto smiles and asked a question. "Why? do you find them pretty?" The raventette shaked his head and said, "It's not just that. Yes they're pretty but..I want to wish on at least one of them everyday.." This got Bokuto's interest. Although that itself doesn't need much effort as everything about his lover gets his interest.

"And what would that be?" Bokuto saw the ravenette smiling softly while looking at the end of the fields, sunlight giving him a bit of a glow that looked heavenly in his eyes. He only snapped out of his trance when he heard the raven-haired boy say, "That we could stay together forever..Just like this." Hearing the wish of his beloved, Bokuto grinned. "Of course! If my dear Kuroo starts calling me Koutaro, I'll buy you no matter how many fields of dandelions you want!" said Bokuto. A little bit louder than he intended.

But none the less, it made Kuroo laugh. "Bokutooo I already told you. I won't call you by your first name until we get married. I want it to be special. For the both of us." Bokuto just chuckles at how cute his future husband is. "Wha- Hey! Don't laugh at me you stupid owl!" "But you were so cute." As if asking an apology, Bokuto started showering Kuroo's face with kisses and they laughed together as the Sun went down.

•Time Skip•

Years passed and now they were married. To say that the wedding was fun was an understatement. Instead of releasing doves, the couple decided to have two bouquets filled with dandelions. At the end on the reception, they stood up, took the bouquets and blew the petals as the flowed like the wind was water rushing up to the sky. All of their friends were at the wedding. Heck even Kenma and Akaashi who were just at the other side of the world for their honeymoon came back to Japan just to see their best friends get married. The couple and their friends waltzed in the ballroom like they were the kings and queens of the world and danced together.

After 2 years in marriage, they decided to have a kid. But seeing as they were both boys, they were a bit dejected. That was until someone saw their poster happily volunteered to be the surrogate mother for their child. As soon as the child was born, they spoiled their little princess that they named Keima on behalf of their friends who introduced them to each other.

They are one big happy family.

Or at least was.

•Flashback Ends•

Bokuto leaned on a tree in front of a field.

A dandelion field.

As he remembered what his dear husband wanted to do when he got the dandelion field. So he took one and wished on it. Blew on the flower yet he knew his wish will never come true. He looked up the sky to stop his tears from crying.

"Tetsu.." He softly said. "Happy Wedding Anniversary my dear.." he continued as his voice wavered at every word he said. "I love you..And I miss you. Both me and Keima do." And as he looked down, all the tears he has been holding, poured out of his eyes like a faucet with a leak. He looked at the stone beside him. "You told me you wanted to wish on these dandelions everyday..To wish we could be together till the end.." he softly smiled, "It worked! We were together till the end..as I held your hands in the hospital till your heart slowly stopped beating and you turned cold.." Bokuto Couldn't help it anymore and bawled his eyes out. "It has been 62 years..62 whole years without you. Why did you leave us? Why is it that you were the one who had to go and yet the bastard who deserved to die is still alive and kicking!" he shouted in frustration.

"I will continue your wish..Hoping that one day it would come true and bring you back to me and Keima. Even though.. Even though I know it will never happen... I will wish on them everyday until nothing is left. Until my last breath.." Bokuto unexpectedly grinned at that. "Luckily for me, this is my last moments. I guess these dandelions do work.. I'll be leaving this world with you by my side." he whispered softly as he caressed the tomb stone of his husband. "I'm coming..my love..."

And with that, Bokuto inhaled his last breath as he died smiling beside his husbands grave.

Enveloping the darkness, Bokuto was suddenly blinded by suck bright light. And as he was squinting his eyes, he saw the shadow of a man in front of him. He feigned ignorance until he grew accustomed to the brightness he was seeing. As he calmed down, a familiar voice came from the man that he saw earlier. Looking up, he saw his beloved Kuroo. And so he ran and ran until he reached him. Picked him up and spun him around and ended everything with a kiss and a tight hug. Kuroo, smiling at the affection he missed, accepted the warmth of his husband and hugged back.

"I'm home..Kou."

"Welcome home...Tetsu."
