chapter 4: Somehow Still Alive

The place where the exit of the cave in which I was staying was located in the middle of the dungeon, so when I finally got out of the cave I found myself helplessly roaming around the dungeon with no way to know if the path I have chosen was right or wrong.

So I did the only logically possible thing for someone of my stature, I threw a stick upwards and let my luck decide on which path I should choose. I kept on tossing it until it perfectly pointed towards a path so when it did I started going down that road without giving any second thought to it as I had found that in this uncertain situation it would be best to just trust my intuition rather than just standing there and frying my brain over on which path to choose but it seemed that my intuition had betrayed me this time as I had mistakenly stumbled into the resting area of the black serpent who with just it's enormous body could even squish an elephant into pulp but it still wasn't the worst part for me. it was it's specialty of throwing out acid which could even melt down the bones and it was possibly the worst opponent which I could ever meet in my current situation.

So when I saw it sleeping I decided not to wake it up and quietly escape but it was already too late for me as it seems it has already sensed my mana and have woken up. Only by it's hissing I could tell that it was not happy with me barging into his bedroom, suddenly without any warning with it's enormous body it lunged towards me at full speed, I was barely able to dodge it's attack with the help of my sword but it still was able to leave some scratches on my body and if not for my sword it would had been a game over for me. Seeing my current situation escape was not an option for me , so I decided to attack the snake with my full force while it was still startled with the force of it's own attack in hopes that it would buy me enough time to escape from the exit. Although I was able to get a clean shot on its back of the head but due to its thick leathery skin it didn't do much damage but the aftershock was powerful enough to throw me against the wall near the exit. Thankfully even if the attack wasn't that powerful to kill it in one fell swoop but the attack to its back of the head was powerful enough to leave it in a shock which bought me the precious time I needed to escape.

I have now again reached the point from where this journey had began but this time there were some great changes within me. My mana was greatly depleted and the overconfidence which was flowing within me because of my chosen's body and my previous life's memories had died out as when I fought the black snake I had came to a realisation that even a wild snake in this dungeon was more powerful than the current me. So after carefully checking that there is no potential danger around me I decided to rest and to continue my journey out of the dungeon after I have completely recovered my Mana.
