After accepting Lina's invitation, Erwin left the reunion event early, but not before settling the bill for the party, as Erwin was a man of his word. Besides, the modest sum was hardly significant to him.

Having dropped Daniel back at Bandung Advent Hospital, Erwin went straight to their former common haunt, Vanda Park, a place where he and Lina had met frequently during their college days.

It was also the old place Lina had mentioned earlier, a place known only to the two of them.

About half an hour later, Erwin arrived at Vanda Park. By now, night had fallen, and the park was sparsely populated.

Erwin parked his car along the kerb and strolled onto the grounds, feeling a wave of nostalgia wash over him. "It's just as it was back then!" he thought, noting that the park hadn't changed much over the past four years. The trees and flowers appeared almost identical to how they were, as if they hadn't grown at all in that time.

"The gazebo is still here too!" From a distance, Erwin spotted the gazebo where Lina used to wait, and he approached with a smile, leaning against its wooden fence to soak in the surroundings.

But shortly thereafter, his phone chimed with an incoming message.

Lighting up the screen, Erwin checked his phone and saw a message from Leticia announcing that tomorrow was her birthday and inviting him to celebrate with her at Shelter Bar the following evening.

Erwin paused to think. Indeed, tomorrow was Leticia's birthday, and even though she was his ex-girlfriend, it would be impolite to not wish her well on her special day. However, this meant potentially having to deal with Adam again.

"Okay, I'll be there tomorrow night," Erwin replied with a smile, resolving that if Adam dared to confront him again, he would stand his ground, fearing not the presence of the so-called young master.

Leticia was in the middle of a karaoke session with Adam when she saw Erwin's affirmative reply and couldn't help feeling elated.

"Adam, that penniless guy has replied to my message and agreed to come to my birthday party tomorrow night."

"Good, we're the hosts this time, so tomorrow night we need to make him realize his place. Just because he's won the lottery and got a bit of money, he dares to act rich," Adam stated coldly, his gaze frosty.

From Adam's perspective, Erwin was still a poor boy. The Ferrari and Rolls-Royce must be part of a ploy he concocted with luxury car dealership employees, so he was intent on exposing the lie and humiliating Erwin thoroughly.

"By the way, Leticia, don't forget to invite more friends to come tomorrow night, let's have a larger audience to witness his downfall," Adam said with a sneer.

"Sure, I'll send out the invites right away." Leticia had heard about Erwin's lottery win as well and was quite convinced it was an act.

"Invite Lina too. I hear Erwin might have a thing for her. Tomorrow night, I want to humiliate Erwin in front of the girl he likes. I want to see him disgraced and rejected by her; the very thought satisfies me."

Adam smiled wickedly, his motives for having Leticia invite Lina were clear; he had designs on her.

He had planned to approach Lina at the reunion but had not anticipated being driven off and embarrassed by Erwin. With tomorrow being Leticia's birthday, it was the perfect opportunity to disgrace Erwin.

At the same time, he saw it as a chance to get closer to Lina. Though he had yet to meet her in person, he had seen her photos, and her beauty far surpassed Leticia's. If he could shame Erwin and approach Lina in one move, wouldn't that be killing two birds with one stone? The thought alone thrilled him.
