A Close Encounter

One year had passed away after the Wall Maria had been fallen. As Eren, Mikasa and Armin wanted to join the scout regiment, they applied for the training corps. They would be able to join the training corps next year. So for living , the trio took shelter in a farm at the district of Troast , in Wall Rose.

Eren , Mikasa and Armin helped the owner to maintain the farm and the owner gave them shelter and foods. The owner of the farm was an old man, named Mr.Ruis . As the three of them helped him and his wife to maintain the farm, they gave them a place to live and feed them foods.

One day, in the morning , Eren and Mikasa was giving food to the horses of the farm. Suddenly, Ms.Ruis came to them and said, " Oh my, you two have already begun to work. You guys surely are really helpful to us. " "It's nothing if we compare to your's help. We are really thankful to you for let us stay." Both Eren and Mikasa replied. She gave them a smile and patted their head ," I wish my child was like you guys."

Both of them again got busy in their works as Ms.Ruis was about to leave the farm, she remembered something. She asked Eren to go to the forest for bringing some woods. Eren agreed to go but Mikasa wanted to go with Eren. Ms.Ruis accept that but Eren rejected Mikasa's request as he wanted to do his work all by himself.

After a few minutes of argument, Mikasa gave up and let Eren to go alone. Ms.Ruis laughed at them for their activities. She told Eren to stay safe and come back home quickly. Eren then took an axe and a bucket with him and went to the south-east part of the town where the forest begun.

After Eren's departure, Ms.Ruis told Mikasa, "I know you're worried about Eren. But you should let him do his work in his own way. If you guys really wanted to join the scouts, then you have to more hard work than these. So let him built himself." Mikasa looking at the ground, " I got it . Thank you for the advice." Ms.Ruis put her hands on Mikasa's shoulder, "Mikasa, you are a good and strong girl. I Know you will be alright in the scouts, because you guys have seen a lot at this age and that makes you stronger."

After that, Ms.Ruis leave the farm to cook the meal as Mikasa followed her. Meanwhile, Armin came back from outside hurriedly as he came back with a news. Mr.Ruis saw him and asked, "Why are you looked afraid,Armin? Anything happened?" Armin replied that, " There is a rumor spreading that a titan was noticed in the forest today morning. " Mikasa hearing this, "What are you talking about, Armin. Does that mean the walls been..."

Armin stopped her as he said, "No, the wall is alright. But people saw a titan for last few days and people have gotten missing in the forest." "You mean the forest is now an unsafe place." Mikasa told this is a shocked voice. "Yes, but where is Eren?" Armin asked. Mikasa was in a shocked and stayed silent. Ms.Ruis replied that in a tensed voice, "He has gone to the forest to collect woods." Hearing this Armin also became afraid and shocked. Mr.Ruis tried to calm them down and said, " Don't worry about that so much. Just hope that Eren will be back home safely."

Meanwhile Eren was already reached the side of the forest but he found out he was alone there. He begun to cut a tree to collect woods. But he listened some noises coming from deep of the forest. Eren tried to ignore that and end his work quickly. But suddenly he heard a scream coming from the forest.

Eren being a little afraid, took his axe and started to go inside of the forest. As Eren went a little deeper in the forest, he saw bloods. Eren nervously still kept going. As he went a few meters in side of forest, there was a body, hanging upside down with a tree. As Eren went near of the body, he realized that he went directly into the dead zone and he became to shivering in fear.

As Eren tried to escape the forest, suddenly a 5 meters titan, with sharp jaw and claws appeared in front of him. Looking at it's size and look, Eren realized that it would be impossible for him to escape from the forest. So Eren was terrified as he thought of being killed by a titan.

But suddenly he remembered the death of his mother, so the fear in him suddenly got vanished as Eren grabbed the axe and charged at the titan with rage. The titan also tried to hit Eren with it's sharp claw, but Eren somehow dodged that and swung his axe at a full power with made a cut in the titan arm. But the titan grabbed Eren with another hand and threw Eren toward a tree. But Eren somehow managed to do a safe landing , but Eren got few scratches on his arm and leg.

Eren with his injuries, again charged toward the titan. But this time he got caught by the claws which broke his axe and cut through his both arms and he was thrown towards a tree . This time Eren hit his head with a tree as he begun to bleeding . The titan goes near him and ignored him as he was dead. And he begun to go away.

As Eren was hurt so badly, he begun to lose his consciousness. He tried to looked at the titan but everything begun to be seemed blurry in front of his eyes. As he saw something coming out from the nape of the titan, he fainted.

After an hour , a group of people came to the forest to investigate the case, as they found out Eren was lying under a tree. A red haired girl told their captain about Eren. They tried to wake him up.

As Eren opened his eyes slowly and was in a shock that he was still alive. He even became more shocked as his wound have been healed and he was fully unharmed. Eren tried to think that as a dream, but than he saw his axe has been broken and there are bloods around him.

Seeing Eren woken, the red haired girl went to him and wanted to know who he was and what he was doing in the forest. Eren replied her, " I am Eren Yeager. I was cutting woods for my home. But suddenly....." Eren stopped there, as the girl asked him , " what happened here?"

Eren replied, " I cannot remember about everything that happened, but I only remember, there was a titan." "A titan, are you sure ?" The girl asked him with a shock.

Then she introduced herself to Eren , " My name is Isabel. I am an member of the survey corps under the Hange squad." Eren was surprised to see a member of the survey corps. Suddenly a woman with glasses, named Hange, came there and listened to Eren .

Meanwhile the others found a burnout body of a titan nearby of the place. Hearing this, Hange told Eren, " looks like you were telling us the truth. But are you the one who killed that titan?" Eren refused that and Hange said, "Of course, how can a kid can kill a titan. But I guess you are lucky to survive against a titan."

Hange than ordered Isabel and to take Eren out of the forest safely. They took Eren and begun to go outside of the forest. But Isabel looked curious at Eren as she stared at him for the whole time. Eren after noticing that, being nervous he said, " Hey miss, is there anything wrong with me?"

Hearing a question from Eren , Isabel back to her senses. "Oh, my bad. You kind of remind me of someone I know. Your face really resemble her." Hearing this, Eren wanted to know who was that person. Isabel replied ," Her name was Carla. She was my aunt. But it's been a long time we met. I heard that she got married. "

Hearing that, Eren became shocked and said, " Wait a second, she is my mom. " Isabel also became surprised hearing those lines. " Huh, so this is the reason you assemble her so much. So that makes us cousins, right?" Eren in a surprise, "Yeah." Eren became a little sad as he got remind of her mother.

"So how is she doing? I think I should pay a visit to her, right Eren?" Isabel said that to Eren . Eren keeping his head down, "But that's impossible now. " Isabel being curious at Eren's words, "What do you mean?" Eren in a sad voice, " Mom is dead. She was eaten by a titan the day when the wall was breached. " Isabel became sad and shocked as Eren told everything that happened 1 years ago.

After hearing everything, Isabel responded," You have been gone through a lot of things, but don't be sad, Eren. I am sure Carla would not be happy, if she saw you sad. So always stay with a bright smile and fight to achieve your goals." As she pated Eren. As Eren hugged her and cried out. Isabel also grabbed him and said, " Don't worry, you have got your big sis on your back."

After a few moment, Eren calmed down and they got out of the forest. Then Eren told her, " Actually, I wish to join the scout regiment. So that I could avenge mom." Isabel replied with a smile, " Well that will not be a easy path. But if you get lucky like today and work hard, you surely can make it. And if you join the scouts, then I will always be there for you." Eren thanked her as he said, "I can go home now by my self. So you can go back to your duty, big sis."

"Well, you look completely alright. Ok, then take care of yourself and prepare yourself for becoming strong to fight." Isabel said that to Eren. As Eren was about to run, "Thank you, big sis. You should also be careful. Wait for me to join the scout regiment." As Eren began to run. Isabel replied, "Ok, Eren . I will wait for you." As they wave each other bye.

After that, Isabel used her odm gear to get back to squad, as she reminded Carla and wished her a happy afterlife. After returning, Hange told her, "You are late. Wish you had a better explanation for this." Isabel put her hand on her head, as smiled and said, " Actually, that kid was my cousin. So it took a little bit more time to talk with him." "Oh well, a family reunion. What a great moment." Hange told with an excitement. Then they continue their investigation.

Meanwhile, Eren got back to home safely, as Mikasa and Armin saw him and hugged him. "Hey, I am okay. So let me go." Eren shouted at them with a smile. "Don't make us worried, you fool" Armin told him. As Ms. Ruis grabbed Eren and said, " Thank god, you are alright Eren. " Well, I am sorry for making all of you worried." As Eren go inside the house.

Eren told them about everything that happened that day. Armin with a shocked, " So the rumors were true. " Eren replied in the affirmative. Meanwhile Mikasa told Eren ," Are you really okay?" " Well, I am fine now." As Ms.Ruis presented the foods on the table. As Eren calmed down, he became more and more excited about joining the survey corps.
