Awakaning

We both screamed out of nowhere.

I felt pain everywhere in my body. A second later everything went dark.

The only person I could see was Leon.

It looked and sounded like he was also in pain.

I walked towards him, even though it felt like someone was breaking me in half.

I looked at him, and he looked at me.

My hand moved on its own, reaching for Leon. He does the same.

When our hands touched, the pain was all gone. All I felt was warmth.

"What's happening?!" I said to Leon.

"I don't know," He said back to me.

I looked around and saw a woman and a man in cloaks in the distance.

"Hey! Do you see that?" I asked Leon.

I let go of Leon's hand and walked toward them.

"Welcome children," The woman said.

"Who are you??" I asked.

"I am your mother, Seraphina," She said.

"And I'm your father Leon." The man said.

Leon and I were both confused.

"How is that possible?' Leon says, "How can you say that you're our parents?"

"You two do not share the same blood, but we're one your parents." The man said.

The woman walked towards me and white feathers fell to the ground. She looked like an angel.

The man also walked toward Leon, and it looked like he was a demon.

"What are you??" I said as I walked backwards.

"Don't be frightened Seraphina, let me explain." The woman said. "I'm an Angel and he's a Demon,"

Suddenly felt pain in my heart, then my back.

"Are you ok??" Leon says, worried.

"They're growing," The demon said. "It's starting soon."

"M-My back," I screamed out loud.

Something comes out of my back. It's wings. White as snow.

"They're finally awakening." The man said..

As I was trying to figure out what was happening I heard Leon's voice in pain.

I looked at him and he also grew wings, but they're black, like a black hole that goes nowhere.

For me, the pain ends when they were fully out, but Leon's pain hasn't gone down.

I walked towards him, still feeling pain every time I moved a muscle.

"Hey! Are you ok?" I asked Leon.

"You should be worrying about yourself." He said, "Don't worry about me."

He stood up straight afterwards.

"Well, the pain finally stopped," Leon said.

Not long after, our wings went back in. It wasn’t as painful this time.

"Now, let's get straight to the point, shall we?." The woman said, "Your quest is to become the most powerful of all the mythical creatures. Be strong and rule together."

"Why should we listen to you?" Leon said to them.

"Because like it or not, this is your destiny." She said back to him.

"Your destiny is to become powerful and defeat Vixen." The man said.

"Who's Vixen??" I asked.

"Vixen was an Angel who turned into a dark lord by murdering his own." She said, "He is your uncle Seraphina, my older brother."

"So you expect Leon and I to defeat him?" I said.

"Yes, we do." She said, "You and Leon have the power to cleanse darkness and a lot more. That power can even surpass both of us.”

"Ok, there is no time to tell you the entire story. Both of you together are powerful. You both will defeat Vixen." The man said.

"What are you talking about, We have powers?" Leon says.

The woman talks about our powers and how powerful they are when combined. She explained that they were ghosts of the past because they were already deceased. She also said that she was the Queen of all Angels and the man was the King of all Demons, and that made Leon and me royalty. I was confused at first, and that entire conversation with them blew away the fear and sadness I had about the people I thought were my parents.

The man and woman started fading.

"I'm sorry, kids, there's no more time. Vixen already knows that both of you have awakened, so be careful. You must protect each other from harm's way and defeat the Dark Lord for both of your kingdoms. Seraphina, be careful, my princess," She said to me as she disappeared.

"Farewell son, protect the young lady will ya, and of course yourself as well." The man said, winking at Leon as he also disappeared.

We were alone in the dark, not knowing where to go.

Leon grabbed me by the hand and dragged me.

“Hey, what are you doing!” I said with a bright red face.

“I see a light over there,” Leon said.

We ran to the light and noticed a door. I slowly go to it and opened it.

We were back in front of our houses.

I looked back, and the door wasn’t there.

My house looked like a crime scene while Leon's house was untouched.

We went inside, it was empty but that was to be expected.

Leon walked to his sofa and laid down, while I went to look around. I noticed an empty bedroom.

I sit down on the bed and think about what was happening

I woke up and realized that I fell asleep. I look at the clock and it’s 8 AM. I thought about whether I want to go to school and decided I wanted to. I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower and when I was done I put on something other than my uniform. I look for Leon and see him in the room that's next to mine. He was sleeping.

I went to the kitchen and cooked some breakfast. I soon realized that I was acting as if nothing happened.

“OMG. OMG, I'm at a guys house, ok, calm down Seraphina, everything's going to be okay.” I talked to myself.

“Hey, why are you talking to yourself, and why are you dressed.” Leon said, “Are you going out?”

“Yes I am, you’re coming too,” I said. “We're going to school."
