Chapter 4-:Jimin

...Jimin was a nervous wreck....

...He never thought in a million years he would actually talk to his soul mate. But here he was in the bathroom writing on his skin....

...'What the hell Jimin? Why would you fucking do this? What the hell is wrong with you? You're just giving him false hope,' Jimin thought to himself while a new sentence appeared on his arm....

...'It's ok, love. I'll keep you updated. For now, I'll be asleep.'...

...Jimin blushes at the little nickname. He doesn't know why. The other person has called him things like that before but Jimin never paid it much attention before....

...Before he knew what he was doing he put the pen on his skin, making sure to remember to disguise his handwriting (something he always did when writing on his skin), and wrote one last message before going back to class....

...'Sweet dreams'...

...Blushing he entered his art class. Jimin was about to sit down when the teacher called him to the front....

..."Yes, ma'am?" Jimin asked...

..."Do you need to go see your other half? Did something happen?" She asked with concern...

...Jimin didn't want to tell her he didn't even know his 'other half'. It's looked down on when you are Jimin's age and haven't even tried to talk to your 'soul mate'. It's considered selfish, rude, and idiotic. Which Jimin knew he was selfish and was being very inconsiderate of the other person so maybe that made him rude. Idiotic? Well if it was stupid to try to protect yourself from the worst heartbreak imaginable then yeah, Jimin was a complete dumb ***....

...His teacher mistakes his silence as distress and told him to go ahead and leave. She would explain to his teachers that something happened and he had to leave. He tried his best to tell her everything was fine and he could stay but she refused....

...On his way back home Jimin got a phone call. He looked at the caller ID, it was Jin....

...The first thing he heard when he answered was Jin saying something too rushed to understand....

..."Hey. Say that slower. I didn't catch it." Jimin said smiling to himself at how the boy acted....

..."It's Yoongi," Jin said sounding close to tears....

..."What about him?" Jimin asked scared that something bad happened to his friend....

..."He got into an accident." The boy was still very shaken up since the accident and even though he acted ok when he was with Yoongi inside he felt so guilty. If he was just more cautious when they were walking home he could've seen the car and got out of the way so Yoongi didn't have to push him and get hit....

..."Is he ok. What happened?" Jimin's breathing stopped at the thought of him being hurt....

..."A car hit him. He-he has cuts everywhere, some really bad, a broken leg, a few of his ribs-" Jimin didn't need to hear the rest....

...He didn't need to because he had a feeling that he had heard it before....

...It was what his 'soul mate' told him. Jimin didn't want to think of the possibility that Yoongi could be his 'other half' but it had already crossed his mind. Multiple times since he's met him actually. He's always dismissed the thought, though, too scared that it might be true....

..."Jimin?" Jin's voice brought him back from his thoughts....

..."Yeah?"...

..."So will you come. I need you here. No one else picked up their phone and Namjoon is out of town. Please?" He sounded desperate...

..."Yeah, Jin. I'll be there as soon as I get ready."...

..."Thank you so much." Was all he said before hanging up....

...Jimin sped up and tried to get back to his apartment so he could cover these marks with a long sleeve shirt and foundation....

...When he gets home he sees Taehyung at the kitchen table eating cereal....

..."Hey what are you doing home so- HOLY SHIT WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?"...

...You can always count on Taehyung to be polite....

..."Soul mate got into a car wreck. Also, get dressed. Yoongi is in the hospital and you don't have work or class today. Jin is there and needs emotional support." Jimin knew that if Yoongi being in the hospital wasn't enough to make Taehyung come Jin's emotional state would be. Jin has always been there for his friends and he rarely ever shows any type of emotion other than happiness so when he gets like this everyone tries to comfort him....

...Walking back to his room Jimin gets his striped long sleeve shirt off the floor and switches it with his white T-shirt. After changing he goes to the bathroom and searches for his foundation. After finding it he starts to apply it, mainly on the marks....

..."I don't understand why you're doing that. We're just going to see Jin and Yoongi. Jin's too emotional to care and Yoongi is probably half dead." Taehyung told Jimin while going to the bathroom to brush his hair....

..."Well, Taehyung I'm a bit scared."...

..."Why?"...

..."You know how I said my soul mate got into a car wreck?"...

..."Yeah."...

..."Well, when Jin called he told me Yoongi got hit by a car."...

...At that, Taehyung stopped what he was doing and looked at Jimin, who was still rubbing in the makeup, "you don't think-"...

..."I don't know Taehyung but by what Jin said he might be. I hope not but I'm just- I'm scared. I don't know how Yoongi feels about the topic but you know I don't want a soul mate."...

...Taehyung sighed. " I know but you're still lucky. Even if it's not Yoongi at least at least you have one. Just be happy."...

...Taehyung is a very rare case. He doesn't have a soul mate. When he was young he never got any faded scars or writings which are very unusual for toddlers. So his mother had him tested and Taehyung was born without a soul mate. The doctors said that it was possible for him to develop one but it hardly ever happened, it was just too rare to have hope that he ever would. Taehyung was destined to fall helplessly in love with people and have his heart broken until he found the right person. But even if he did find the right one he would still never have the love that someone who did have a soul mate would have....

..."Taehyung if I could I would give it to you but I can't. I'm sorry....

..."I know. It's just hard." He started brushing his hair again....

...After they finished getting ready they got into Jimin's car and headed towards the hospital....

...Taehyung decided now was the time for questions....

..."So you messaged your SM?"...

..."Yeah. I was worried after seeing the marks"...

..."They must be pretty happy to finally hear from you. This is like your first time talking to them right?" Taehyung was the only one that knew of Jimin's situation. He is Jimin's oldest friend and Jimin always went to him when his parents were fighting. Taehyung knew why Jimin didn't want to fall in love. It was hard for him to understand at first, he couldn't possibly understand why his mother would teach him that love was a toxic thing, but after a while, he finally accepted that he didn't want his soul mate. But that didn't mean Taehyung wasn't still envious....

..."Yeah. I just hope they don't look too much into it. It was a one-time thing."...

..."So, yoongi. What will you do if it is him?"...

..."Tae I don't know. Probably nothing. I'll just write on my arm telling him that I don't want that. So he can move on." Jimin said not taking his eyes off the road....

..."Jimin, you know he won't. No one in their right mind would try to find someone other than their soul mate to date. The only time that ever happens is when their soul mate dies."...

..."Well Taehyung I don't know what I'll do and frankly I don't want to think of it right now. I just want to be there for Jin and make sure Yoongi isn't dead." Jimin gripped the steering wheel in frustration...

..."Ok. Answer me this then. Why do you think it might be him?"...

..."Well, when I asked what happened They said that they got into a car wreck. Then Jin called and told me Yoongi got into an accident."...

..."Well, that could just be a coincidence," Taehyung said thinking that this could just be Jimin worrying too much. It's not like he hasn't done it before....

..."Taehyung I know what you're thinking, this isn't like before. When Jin told me about his injuries it all added up. And it's not just that. It-I feel like it's him. I have for a while and this just makes since." Ever since Jimin met Yoongi he felt pulled to him. At first, Jimin thought it was a simple crush but after a few months, he realized that it's much deeper. At night, he would lay awake thinking of him and wished he was by his side. But because Jimin is the way he is he always made excuses to himself for why he thought of Yoongi. He denied it to himself that he could very well be Yoongi's soul mate....

..."You mean you've felt the pull and you fucking fought it? That's almost impossible once you realize that you feel it. How long have you been doing this?" Taehyung was shocked, to say the least....

..."I don't know. Like two years."...

..."TWO FUCKING YEARS. WHAT THE HELL JIMIN?"...

..."Yeah Taehyung, Stop shouting. It hasn't been easy. Do you know how hot Yoongi is? With his pale skin and beautiful eyes and oh god those lips. And don't get me started on when he wears those snapbacks." Jimin felt himself get lost in the thought of Yoongi and quickly snaps out if it, "but none of that matters because I will not fall in love. I don't care if I have to fight it for forty more years. I know what it's like when your soul mate isn't right. I know the pain you go through. I refuse."...

...They pulled into the hospital parking lot but Taehyung wasn't done with the conversation. Jimin got out of the car and he followed while asking, "How do you know that your soul mate is going to be like Your our father?"...

..."Because I know I'm not going to be."...

..."Why does anyone have to be like your father? What if your parents getting together was a mistake? Maybe your relationship with your SM will be good. Why does it have to be like your parents?"...

..."I'd rather never find out then there be any chance of it being like my parents."...

...That was the last thing said until they reached the receptionist on the first floor....

..."Hi yes, we're here to see Min Yoongi. He would've been entered today." Jimin told the receptionist...

...Before speaking the woman typed on her computer looking for what floor their friend would be on, "Ah yes. Right here. He is on the fourth floor. Um, room 189."...

...The two boys went to the elevator and got in pressing the button that would take them to the fourth floor....

..."Jimin. Be prepare for what you're about to see. It could be really bad." Taehyung knows that if Yoongi is his other half then Jimin seeing him in a very bad state could hurt him....

...Jimin nods but doesn't speak. He has to control his emotions. This is one of the hardest things about resisting the pull. It's already hard to stay away from your soul mate but seeing them injured makes you want to be there even more. Seeing your other half in pain, if bad enough, can emotionally destroy you if you aren't there to take care of them....

...Once they get to the fourth floor they see Jin. He's standing outside a door that they assume was to Yoongi's room. When Jin looks their way they notice his puffy red eyes and tear-streaked cheeks....

...they start walking towards Jin and the older boy basically runs to them....

..."I'm so relieved you guys are here." Jin hugs them both tightly....

..."What happened Hyung?" Taehyung asked Jin....

..."W-we were walking h-home and I didn't see a car swerve off the r-road and Yoongi p-pushed me and now he can't hear and h-his leg is broken and oh god there are so many cuts." Jin starts to cry again, "it's all my fault. If I h-had just been paying a-attention."...

...Jimin holds Jin as he cries, "Jin this is not your fault. Knowing Yoongi he would've done it for any of us, hell any of us would jump in front of a car for you Jin. And besides, it was his decision to push you out of the way and get hit. He knew the consequences."...

..."B-but-" Jin tried to argue but Taehyung stopped him....

..."No buts Jin. Jimin's right. Any of us would've done it and Yoongi just happened to be there. It was his choice to do it and he did."...

...Jin sniffles before nodding, "ok. I guess your right. If you guys want to go in we are allowed. His parents refuse to come so they are allowing close friends."...

...They nod and make their way to yoongi's room. Taehyung's first to enter, then Jin and finally Jimin....

...Jimin takes one look at Yoongi's weak, sleeping figure on the bed and stops breathing. He feels tears come to his eyes as he realizes that this must be what all the books he has read talks about. This was the pain you feel when you see someone you care deeply for hurt and you can't do anything....

...Jin looks at him, "Jimin are you ok?"...

...Jimin nods and covers his mouth as he exits the room. He can't do this. He thought he could but he never thought it would be this bad. Before leaving the room jimin saw the state Yoongi was in and it was anything but ok....

...Yoongi had bandages over some of the cuts that were really bad but the ones that didn't require them had stood out against his pale skin. When Jimin saw the cuts he felt a stinging sensation on all the marks in his skin. He didn't want this. He didn't want to hurt like this. He didn't want a stupid soul mate so why did he have to feel this way....

...The pain Jimin feels is something he would never wish on anyone, not even his biggest enemy. The stinging of the marks. The crushing of his heart. It's all too much to handle....

...Breathing heavy with tears falling down his face he sits down on the floor in the hallway. He tried to control himself but it failed miserably. Jimin doesn't know how long he's been out in the hallway for when he feels a hand on his shoulder....

...He looks up to see Jin....

..."Taehyung told me," Jin said while sitting beside Jimin....

..."What!? He could've heard. What if he just didn't open his eyes. Jin he can't know." Jimin whisper-shouts with tears refusing to cease...

..."Don't worry kid. He whispered it in my ear. I could barely hear it so I doubt he could if he was awake. Not to mention his hearing isn't working right now." Jin said calming Jimin down by rubbing soothing circles on his back....

...Jimin slumps down into Jin pathetically, "Jin I don't know what to do. I can't just stay away from him. It hurts too much. I can barely sleep without him invading my dreams. Jin it hurts and I don't want it too. I just don't want to fall in love. Is that too much to ask?"...

...Jimin sobs into Jin's shirt, "Jimin. It's ok. I understand why you would be scared to let someone have your heart. You told us about your parents. It's scary for everyone to give themselves to someone completely. It's hard to trust that they will take care of you. It's hard to feel vulnerable and that is exactly what love is. When you love someone you become so vulnerable because everyone knows your weakness. It was so hard for me to give myself emotionally to Namjoon. I had acted so confident and happy for my whole life but inside I was withering away. Do you think it was easy to let Namjoon in? To let him know how sad and insecure I was. It was so hard. But he didn't care. He loved me no matter how fucked I was inside. Jimin, what your parents have, that's not love. Love is trusting your other half completely and in return, they do the same. love is taking care of your other half and keeping them safe. Love is not arguing and cheating. Jimin I don't know what you will decide to do but I will be here for you either way. I just want you to know that ok?"...

...Jimin had listened very carefully to Jin. He tried his best to believe his Hyung, he really did. But he just couldn't. Namjoon and Jin were too good to be true. Their love only happens once in a lifetime. Jin was lucky....

...But instead of telling his friend that he couldn't believe his big speech about love he just nodded. They stayed like that for a while. Jin holding Jimin while he cried into his shirt. Eventually, Taehyung came out to see how they were....

..."Hey, you guys ok?"...

..."Yeah," Jimin said sniffling a little. He had just started to pull himself back together....

..."Good because Yoongi's awake. I told him you guys stepped out and I would come get you." Taehyung told them...

...Jin stood up, "You don't have to come in if you don't want to yet."...

...Jimin gets up sighing, "No, I'm ok. Wait, you can't see the marks can you?"...

..."No. You good?"...

...Jimin nods, "I don't know. I just hope I don't breakdown in front of him."...

...Jin hugs him, "Even if you do it's ok. Tae and I are here."...

...Jimin pulls away from him and nods. Taking a deep breath they enter Yoongi's hospital room....

...What Jimin didn't expect though was the gigantic gummy smile Yoongi had plastered across his face when they entered....
