Chapter 5 - Reconcillation

AT HER ROOM

Regina had a good sleep at her room when her phone suddenly rung. As she looked at the screen, it was Johnny. Johnny was her best friend for years, but just like her family he was disheartened by the fact that she chose to be with Jamie, because of this, he had a quarrel with her and didn't talk with her for years. From last life to this life, he is a person she can truly count on. As she attended the call, the voice from the other end sounded, "Get ready, I'll take you out!", he said in a clear voice and hung up. As he said, Regina freshened up and went downstairs, only to see, her family happily laughing and serving coffee to a guy who is of the same age as Regina, he had brown hair and had a perfect built. His eyes were sharp and his eyebrows artistic. He was perfect from every aspect. "Johnny, you had a conflict with Regina, but why don't you come home. How many years it have been since you came home. Mom & Dad really missed you a lot", Regina's mom said in a worried tone. After all, Johnny grew up with her and her parents took Johnny as their own son.

Johnny's parents are close friends with Regina's parents as well. "Johnny?", Regina's voice struck, as tears filled her eyes, he was her bestfriend. In her last life, he died while protecting her from Jamie's attempt of selling her off for money. All the memories filled her mind as tears rolled through her cheeks. Johnny walked to her side and wiped those tears, "lets go", he grabbed her hand and waved at her parents as the sign of goodbye. They both entered the car as Regina took the passenger seat. From the moment she entered the car, she didn't say a word but kept looking on the outside, as the wind blew her hair, all the memories of her past life kept playing in front of her eyes. The car came to a halt. And they both started climbing to the top of a building. As they reached the top, the view of the city was clear, the entire place was covered with transparent glass walls which was upto their shoulder level for protection, wind kept blowing as Johnny asked, "Still remember why we used to come here?", he asked in a bare voice. Regina nodded. "Whenever any one of us were in a bad mood, we would select a high place and scream to make ourselves feel better", Johhny said leaning on the glass. Regina didn't open her mouth.

"Scream now!", he said which you can also infer as an order. She looked at the city view and she took a deep breath. She has to get revenge for her past life, she cannot cling on to the bad memories from the past. She started screaming. Screamed out loud. Screamed all her heart out. Screamed until her voice became sour.

She looked at Johhny's direction, "You useless piece of trash!", She screamed and pushed him away as she broke out in tears. She grabbed him by his collar, "You know I'm walking down the wrong path, why didn't you stop me?", she cried out loud, questioning him. "I was being shit minded. Why didn't you beat me up and bring me back to senses. Why did you just walk away from my life?", she kept crying and questioning him. He pulled her into his embrace and patted on her back, "I'm Sorry!", He said in a low voice.

"Sorry? Who needs your sorry? Don't you know I'm mud headed, I was totally at wrong but not only did you not make me right but also didn't come to meet me for these many years. Do you know how many days I cried without having you by my side", she held tight onto him and kept crying.

It was not the pain that she accumulated in one lifetime but two. Across two lifetimes, Its been so long since she met this best friend of hers. She truly missed him.

He didn't say a word and allowed her to talk her heart out. "Do you know? How many days I waited for you to show up & give a tight slap on my face and tell me 'you are wrong bitch' and stay by my side, being my protective angel?", she kept crying.

"I'm a stupid alright? I'm a total useless person alright? I don't know what's good and what's not alright? Don't you know you have more authorities in my life than myself?, You can make decisions for me even without asking me, you know that? I trust you more than I trust myself, you know that?", she cried out loud as her voice broke, "I'm Sorry, really really Sorry", she started apologizing. "I can lose anyone in my life but not you!", she kept crying. After all, he was her protective angel. From her childhood till now, he is the person she can blindly trust. He has always appeared whenever there is a problem. There have been numerous occasions when she was the one who did the mischievous act but he will take the blame for her. He was the personification of 'best friend for a lifetime'. If not for the fight because of Jamie, he would have never stayed away from her life. Though he was trying to protect her from the outside, he was unable to protect her all the time. He wiped her tears and said in a low voice, "I won't let you make any mistakes anymore!", he said and hugged her tight
