Chapter 4 - Show at the engagement

At the engagement venue

Inside the dressing room,

"Tell me where Regina is!!!", Jamie's roar sounded all over.

"It should be us who question you! What did you do to my daughter", her mom shouted back.

"You all are not willing for the engagement! It was you people who locked her up! Don't act!", Jamie shouted.

"Jamie! Only after getting your call Regina went out! She didn't return all night", Her dad shouted.

Though they all know Regina wasn't with Jamie, they took out all the anger they had for him all these years for turning their beloved daughter against them

Before Jamie could say anything, a servant interrupted, "Mr.Crain is here.", he said politely.

"What Steve Crain really came?", Regina's dad was shocked. Steve Crain is the no.1 business man in the city. Its said that he never attend any kind of functions but he really came today, "I'll go receive him", and "Find Regina soon!", he ordered and went out.

"Arrangements are really exaggerating" ,Steve told Winsten.

"After all, she is the only daughter of the Tang's", Winsten replied as they both reached the VIP seats.

"Welcome Mr.Crain. Thanks for coming personally", Regina's father Joseph welcomed him personally.

He nodded and gave a slight smile.

"Its already time why isn't the ceremony started yet?", Steve asked calmly.

"That.. That.. It will start soon", Joseph stuttered and went to the dressing room only to find Regina hasn't returned yet.

"Cancel the ceremony!", Regina's grandpa, George Tang ordered.

"Tell them Regina isn't feeling well. We'll discuss about other things later when we go home", he added.

"You cannot do this! You guys! Wait and see! Wait and see what I'm going to do!", Jamie shouted like a madman and went to the stage.

He grabbed the microphone, "Everyone here, be my witness, the Tang's has kidnapped Regina! They weren't willing for the engagement, Regina made them accept it but look what they have done, they've kidnapped their own daughter and spoiled the ceremony!", he shouted.

"What a show..", Steve smirked and said in a low voice.

"Give me justice!", Jamie continued to scream

Everyone started to whisper among themselves. They all criticized the Tang family for putting business and profits over their daughter's happiness.

Suddenly a loud voice sounded from the outside, "Drop the act Jamie!", As everyone looked at the side where the voice was coming, Regina stood there wearing clothes which were half torn and her hair was a mess. There were some visible scars.

Steve looked at the direction and he was more fascinated by the show that's going on.

Her parents were more shocked, didn't she tell them she was safe, why does she look like beaten up now. It was so confusing.

Regina walked towards the stage and she looked at Jamie, "Jamie.. I loved you so much, why did you do this to me.", her voice stuttered.

Jamie walked down and tried to grab her hand when she shrugged him off.

"Regina, what happened to you", Jamie was confused, this was not in his plan, it was all messed up.

"Last night, you asked me to come to a club and when I arrived there, a group of men approached me and told me that you sent them and they...", before she continue any further, a leather coat wrapped her body and covered the torn dress.

As she looked back, it was a stranger to her.

"You don't have to continue any further, we all can guess what might have happened to you.", he said in a bold voice.

He wrapped his one arm around her and turned towards the crowd, "What's there to look. They have arranged for food. Those who want to eat, eat and go home. The show's over.", his voice was authoritative.

Regina looked at him in surprise, he doesn't have any memory of him in her last life, why is he suddenly helping her out.

"Young Miss Tang, your acting skill is really good and so is your disguise but I've already seen through it", he whispered slowly near her ear.

She was more shocked.

"Who are you", she asked in a low voice.

"Remember the name, Steve Crain", he replied in a low  voice.

Her parents rushed towards her.

"Regina, are you okay?", they were concerned.

"Take her home and then talk things out", Steve was calm.

"Thank You so much Mr.Crain and sorry for all the unpleasant things you happened to see", Regina's dad said in a polite tone.

"You don't have to apologize to me, your daughter is the victim. Settle it out with the Lee family.", He said, turned around and walked away.

Regina looked at his disappearing figure and she has to say, she is quite impressed with him.
