VORACIOUS- 8

~Sophia’s POV~

I quietly shut the door, hoping to enter the house undetected.

I winced when I heard Demetrius voice behind me. “Where do you think you're coming from?” He asked in a strangely calm tone.

"I was out." I whispered, looking around and noticing he had sent all the bodyguards away, just my luck.

"Where?" He questioned staring at me intently, I couldn't help but squirm under his penetrating gaze.

"I had an errand to run." I vaguely answered.

"Errand? Sophia, do you have any idea the hell I went through when I came back to find an empty room and an open window." He shouted, his eyes clouded with anger and worry.

"I'm sorry."

"You’re sorry?" He laughed bitterly at my lack of response. I gasped when his hands slammed furiously onto the wall behind me, keeping me caged in his arms. "I had the whole of Greece searching for you, I drank myself to the point of insanity thinking someone had taken you. Can you even imagine the amount of guilt that weighed down on me knowing I was the one who left you alone?" I could see the sadness in his eyes as he remembered the pain, he had gone through because of me.

"I'm sorry Demetrius, I really am." I choked on my own sobs as I looked deep into his bright eyes. It seemed as if the pain he had felt had been reflected onto me, and it hurt, a lot.

He didn't respond to my apology, looking down he quietly whispered. "Don't ever do that to me again. Ever." I sighed knowing he was still very angry at me. I lovingly swept the fallen hair from his face, so he was looking directly at me. "Forgive me Demetrius, I am truly very sorry." I held his face in my hands and tenderly kissed his cheek. "I love you." He only nodded and interlocked his hands with mine, giving each of my knuckles a sweet kiss.

“You still haven't told me where you went.” He observed me with curiosity and I mentally cringe knowing what I was about to tell Demetrius would further upset him.

"I-I was at Cass-Cassandra's place." I stuttered feeling my nerves increase as he suddenly let go of my hand and began to mutter incoherently to himself in Greek.

"I have told you several times to stay away from that woman, she is a bad influence and extremely violent." I scoffed at his statement, but quickly masked it as a cough when Demetrius stared in my direction.

"She punched you once." I shrugged.

"Are you forgetting that she not only punched me, but broke my jaw in the process. Who knew a woman could pack such a punch?" He trailed of, probably relieving the very embarrassing moment as Demetrius' ego was shattered in mere seconds, by one woman.

"Yes, I remember that very eventful day." I snickered causing Demetrius to glare at me. "And I assure you, you won't be seeing her for a very long time." I grimaced remembering what had transpired the last time I saw Cassandra.

“You're not fighting me on this?” Demetrius cast me a suspicious glance.

"Nope."

"Why?" He seemed to be very interested in the latest information on Cassandra and my friendship.

"We're not friends anymore." I swallowed a huge lump in my throat to prevent myself from bursting into tears.

"Oh." Demetrius seemed shock at my revelation, completely the opposite of how I expected him to be.

"Isn't this the part where you jump for joy?" It was my turn to give him a suspicious glare.

"Yes, but I know how close you guys were."

"Okay...who are you and what have you done to my husband?" I stepped away from the unusually behaved man that may or may not be my husband.

"It's still me Sophia, now come here." He demanded. I sighed, there's the man I know and love. I walked into his outstretched arms and wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

"Why are you being less, you?" I questioned against his neck, inhaling the delicious scent of coconut that swarmed my senses.

"I had to deal with the thought of my wife being kidnapped, now that I have you back, I'm making the most of it." He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist and spun me around causing me to squeal.

When he eventually put me down, I had to hold onto his shoulders to prevent myself from falling because I was so dizzy.

"You feel that?" He lifted my hand to his chest once I regained my balance.

“Why is it beating so fast?” I asked feeling the relentless thumping of his heart against my hand with widened eyes.

"It's because of you." He smirked.

"Me? What did I do?" I asked, my eyebrows scrunched together in confusion and worry.

"You make me -"

I fell to the floor screaming, instantly I was surrounded by crowds of people, shouting and crying. What is going on? I turned my attention to what they were focusing on and quickly moved away from the bloodied sand in horror. I was at a beach. Impossible, I was Demetrius just a second ago, how could I have ended up here? As I looked around everything all seemed so real, I pushed and shoved the people around me, not caring to apologize, I had more important things to concentrate on. I came to an abrupt stop when I saw Demetrius. He was punching somebody, mercilessly and viciously, the man was covered in a bath of crimson blood that pooled down his face and onto the floor. I couldn't just stand still and watch the barbaric nature of this attack.

"Demetrius!" I shouted, attempting to push him away with all my strength, but my hand simply went through his body. I looked down at my hands in fear, what is going on?"

"Demetrius!" Another voice, much like my own screamed behind me. I turned around and my eyes widened when I saw an exact replica of me.

She was crying and attempting to restrain Demetrius, just like I had tried, only difference was, she could touch him. What is happening to me?

I watched with disgust as the man managed to get up on his feet, but was immediately knocked down again. I can't believe Demetrius is doing this again after all the pain I had suffered from the last time.

I peered down at the man's face and shielded him from Demetrius. "Stop this now!" I warned him as he prepared to kick the helpless man, I felt an overwhelming sense of terror when Demetrius didn't stop. He was going to kick me! I shut my eyes tight and awaited what I knew would befall me.

I jumped when I heard the man grunt in agony behind me, his leg had gone straight through me, but how?

I heard a loud scream and I immediately ran to the aid of the woman who looked exactly like me. "Leave her alone!" I punched and kicked the men but my leg refused to make contact, it appeared they could not see me nor feel me.

"Am I dead?" I questioned feeling myself about to cry as I was taken to this horrible place, is this the route to hell?

I watched uselessly as the woman was locked inside an oddly familiar black sports car.

Perplexed, I looked around the beach and saw the beach chair I had taken on our trip to the Caribbean and I looked at the woman sitting miserably in the car, that was the same dress I wore to the Caribbean.

I covered my mouth in realization, I'm having a nightmare, a very horrific one, but how does it all seem so real?

"Sophia!"

"Sophia!"

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the large room, in fear.

I groggily sat up and found Demetrius staring at me with relief clear on his face.

"Demetrius, what happened?" I croaked feeling slightly parched.

"I'm just as clueless as you. One second I was holding your arm and the next you were screaming until you fell into my arms." He looked at me with concern and I suddenly had the urge to tell him to stop. He was staring at me like I was mentally unstable.

"Can I have some water please?" I cleared my throat, hoping to get his attention focused on anything other than me.

"Yes, of course." He immediately got a glass of water from the bedside table and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I whispered before taking a huge gulp of the liquid.

When I was done, I put the glass back on the table and sat in silence.

"Sophia-"

"Don't touch me!" I moved away from him in fear before his hand could grasp mine.

"Are you okay?" He asked, attempting to come near me again.

"Please stay away!" I moved even further away from him, feeling myself about to cry.

"Sophia what is wrong with you?" The exasperated tone of his voice didn't go unnoticed by me and I felt even worse.

I sniffed, wiping a single tear that rolled down my cheeks. "I don't know."
