"My ladies the king demands your presence."
"Of course, we'll be right there," said Maya in the most polite way possible.
After the maids were done with their extra finishing touches, they sent the princesses off.
The ballroom was lit and the music made it all so magical. The king and queen were busy greeting their many guests when the doors to the ballroom opened up. From the open doors, the girls came out one by one.
"Maya Auden Bellevue, Heli Flene Bellevue, Vanessa Barte Bellevue, Elris Jade Bellevue, Amanda Sofie Bellevue, Lillian Nora Bellevue!!" The announcer announced their names.
He thought that he had announced them all but after he counted them when they came down he saw that there were only six. He started to panic as he was supposed to announce all of their arrivals.
"Father, mother.." Maya greeted them as she and her sisters took their place.
"Where's your sister?!" Yeona asked as she took her seat.
"She-"
"Twyla Elvina Bellevue!" The announcer announced in relief.
Twyla gracefully descended the stairs, ignored her so-called "husband to be" and went straight to greet her father. She then took her seat beside Vanessa.
The girls were lost in their conversation when a striking young man came forward and introduced himself to the King and Queen.
"I'm Rhysand Zuko Lloyd, first born of duke Drazhan Lloyd and dutchess Pheme Lloyd."
"First born? You've really grown, the first time your parents brought you here, you were a mere baby," said Yeona.
"Your Majesties might I be so bold as to invite one of your daughters for a dance?" he said, politely bowing in front of his superiors.
Basilius looked at the girls and saw that most of them were mostly interested in dancing with him, "Choose your pick."
"Your majesty anyone of your choosing is more than enough." He lowered himself to such an extent.
Basilius was impressed with the boy, looking at his seven daughters he chose the best one, Maya.
"My eldest daughter and the heir to my throne, Maya Auden Bellevue," said Basilius.
When the words were heard by those present in the room, whispers could be heard in the room. In every kingdom under Llyn no woman had ever got the chance to rule. But at the capital, a woman was to inherit the king's throne and riches, how absurd!!
Maya delightedly accepted his invitation and went to dance with him.
Maya was a beautiful dancer, she was good at everything so as to say. There was nothing she couldn't do, be it in the battlefield or just the ordinary skill of art, her talent was immeasurable.
"Princess you're such a beautiful dancer." Rhysand complemented his partner.
"Why thank you, but you're not doing so bad yourself." The latter bluntly replied.
The dance went on smoothly, her sisters were sitting there admiring their sister's talent and so was the king and queen. Everyone in the room was mesmerized by this gorgeous flower, who glided and float gracefully like the clouds.
When the music ended everyone gave both of them a huge round of applause for such a wonderful performance.
A final bow and the two parted ways. The duke was so proud of his son for managing to get on the good side of the king. His son couldn't have done any better.
Maya went back and took her seat beside her father.
"Handsome fellow isn't he?" Basilius joked.
"Father~" Maya slouched.
Her sisters jeered as softly as they could. Maya's faced turned red, she didn't want to admit that she found him rather fetching.
She then noticed one of her sister glaring at a certain someone. She looked as though she wanted to kill him then and there, but she couldn't as there were a lot of reasons which prevented her from doing so.
"Twyla! Twyla!" Maya called out to her sister as softly as she could not trying to catch anyone else's attention.
Vanessa who was still examining the room heard Maya's voice and when she paid attention to it she heard her calling out to Twyla. She tapped her younger sister's shoulder gently and pointed to Maya who was calling out to her
Twyla looked at Maya with an expression which asked her why she was calling. But Maya just frowned and faced back to the ballroom. Twyla too got what her sister meant and she kept a straight face, smiling at every guests who presented themselves in front of the King and Queen
"My lord." A familiar voice sounded and it gave goosebumps to the two people sitting beside the great strategist,Twyla Elvina Bellevue.
"Bricriu how many times must I tell you to call me father-in-law?" The king asked pleasantly.
Bricriu let out a hearty chuckle,"I-"
"No need for etiquette Dwyer," Twyla interrupted.
" My lady-"
Twyla glared at him,"Drop the act Bricriu and cut to the chase."
Bricriu laughed," It seems like nothing can get pass my lady's mind."
"Before you even say anything, just remember you have no right to ask for it." Twyla got up and left the ballroom.
Heli ran after her sister to make sure that she doesn't do anything stupid in the process of calming herself down.
Bricriu Pyrrhos Dwyer, the son of count Lovis Dwyer and countess Kalpana Dwyer. He was an only child so obviously he was spoiled and pampered by his parents a lot. He was betrothed to Twyla before she even turned one. But that doesn't mean they get along, in front of Twyla Bricriu was nothing than just a tiny ant whom she could crush without any effort.
