At the other less chaotic side of the large field, in a placed obstructed all around by the Designation forest which spanned a great deal, almost without end - a large waterfall stood between them. Little mist trailing in the air among and above the trees. The raging and coursing sound of 'wild water drained other noises - it's presence domineering. The two figures both stood at the feet of the falling water that slide down the stomach of a mountain. Vegetation embedded the whole area of land, the mountains not exempted with only the great sprinkling waterfall standing out - the only existence not muffled by the green. Even though it's noise raged in the air, the atmosphere seemed strangely quiet, as though the noise wasn't enough to drown out the tension of silence that germinated and spread outward from the wide clearing around the waterfall.
" Don't you have something..... anything to say" ,Shavan asked( his eye sharper). Though he said so in a forcefully controlled tone of voice, what he felt inside him was strong emotion.
" I'm under no obligation to account to anyone on my decision , not even you."
" Just why, why ! did you choose to abandon your comrades for the sake of some goal. Are you saying all that memory we shared together are just, justa slide show " he yelled in anger and frustration, unable to maintain his emotional boundaries.
" Exactly so."he retorted, causing a shudder from Shavan. "you've changed quite a lot, Shavan. I wonder what happened to the once untrusting prrson, who is contented partaking in situations from the sidelines... being passive. You see Shavan, over the time of our stay I've realized quite a lot, Shavi . And if its one thing I've discovered is that all these connection are simply temporary, bound to disappear sooner or later. we're in a position, a line of work were the physical situation's being more imperative rather than the social. Sure Ment. Nadi might say whatever he wishes about forming strong connections with comrades, but see, I view such idea as a hindrance. I mean, just look at the bigger picture for a moment, see, the vast of what we chained dogs do have an apex aim of survival. Just why do you think you form bond with people who you'd rather not associate with? just why do you think the liege so desperately desire the scientist pride to such a level that he would risk his troopers with out a second glance?
boy I tell you, it's all survival, all Darwinism of a more sophisticated level for this present day humans. so as you can see, I too am commiting myself to survival-"
"by stabbing your mates in the back! Tell me what's so special surviving in a place where you have no one who you could count on, no one to have your back, tell me!? you might think that you're perfectly self-sufficient but these are just delusions of people who can give a second thought for why humans form groups in the first place - to suffice for the blind spot a single individual may possess and he in turn will do the same for another of his group, to create a form of cyclic structure, a impenetrable barrier where no weak spot is apparent to view by outsiders. Damn you, you delusional scoundrel!", for some reason Blasmus didn't seem offences by his insults, but rather said calmly:
" I never said I'll be alone. I have the rightful side where I belong... that is off course the ore of the Metalcrust. They give better deals. If it isn't the bond then the people with whom the bonding occur shall share similar fate ... sooner or later. Forming bonds isn't a problem for my person but rather forming unbreakable ties, ties which won't give way for any unforeseen situation, now that's were we might not get along.Survival is my number one priority, so why not free myself of all that shit ' cause guess what? they're just holding me back."
Shavan took a step forward wanting to storm at him, just less than a feet from the flowing river that separated the fellows but decided against it . A shadow formed at his eyes as he bit down on his lips and clench his fist. Shaking .
"Wow, you're not usually one to lose your cool " he said almost uninterested.
Ignoring his taunting Shavan replied: " our friends-"
"Not 'our' Shavan. Not ' our'",
" Fine then. Said friend are all there at battle risking their lives for our sake-"
" You still seem to not get it , do you shavi, oh I mean Shavan." He said still taunting him," I don't belong here and that have been decided by uncle long ago. Tsk, hell I'm wasting time talking to you even now.
So , Sha-van, are you going to stand in my way, ' cause if you and the others do so.... then I'm afraid I won't hesitate to annihilate you all", a slow wicked grin danced on his face.
For some reason Shavan didn't seem perturbed by his threats at all- even though with the fact that he wasn't joking - knowing him, or rather knowing the fake personality he fooled everyone with, he never jokes in this situation. The cool wind blew at Shavans unbuttoned Tang suit and loose hair. The round goggled kid of similar age, his former comrade, tilted his head in apparent confusion with hands in side pocket. Presently he sees Shavan image a little blurry as the raging waterfall partially prevented him from sighting Shavan, with only his eerie glowing eyes distinct, always marking it's presence. Shavan finally spoke in his smooth but deep voice, half way masked by the ongoing flutter of falling, foaming water: " looks like we not coming to a conclusion, huh? Well as much as I'll regret doing this afterwards- if there is any, i still... I still have a duty to carry out as a ray fighter - of the liegua fighting force! ." He said decisively, his eyes fiercely exibiting his steely resolve- iron will, the same perseverance he drew upon during those dreadful years with his guardian." We're both busy people, let's get this over with, shall we?" , not really asking a question, he raised his left hand, eyes glistening through the dark shade he wore, causing Blasmus guard to be up as he creased his brows.
Shavan, lowering his left hand, diving straight into the shirudo stance."Let's give it our all, shall we?!".
"Off course. Just who do you think I am".
He's never killed anyone before , nor has he withness the death of any. But... He felt that if he truly, badly wants to achieve his long time objective, this is just one of many decisions that awaits him in the not so far future. He took a deep breath, letting out a good dose of steam as his body started to heat up and shiver slightly, the heat mostly emanating from the length of his arm and at its highest near the tip of his finger. He presently wore the glass they were after, not just the glass but it's visceral, dark shades hiding his eyes from view. But obviously his 'friend' wouldn't be able to discern it. That was good. He only knew vaguely of his strange prowess or at most suspect it came from the device.
His friend or rather once-friend, probably one of the closest he might ever have - is about to take a dangerous turn, and he definitely won't stand by idely; not just as a result of personal feelings but also as a sense of responsibility.* If I can't force him- or rather if forcing him fails, he leaves me no choice but to end him*, Shavan thought,* but... can I really do so?*.
Yet, Shavan knew that letting the Metalcrust earthin access control over his friend standing right before him would be a bad move taken by the light earthin - it'll definitely earn them bite marks in the later future. He wouldn't let so much potential go to waste like that.
" Hey, lemme ask you: do you seriously think you could even be a thorn in my way? If you do, then you're getting really delusional", he said so with a smirk.
"......"
Shavan poised himself still on the stance leaning a little forward by his side where his right arm resided, afix and muted , solely concentrating at the tip of his fingers, his eyes threatening to Pierce through the rectangular eerie shades he wore. He tried to remember all what his mentor relayed, cutting off almost all external distractions. His shoulder-length inky hair fluttered wildly and loosely in the dispersing wind as he lowered his head and knees slightly. His former friend could only watch through translucent goggled eyes, hand no longer pocketed. He should have paid more consideration to their difference in aptitude and prowess, but off course Shavan's statues as a melee type rayfighters blocked that line of alertness.
Little bands of flailing white gas emanated from the vessels through the pores of his skin, which became larger. His right arm, the one not behind his back but thrusted downward by his side with a propped up palm - became a slittering , wriggling mess of innate blood vessels threating to burst forth from his skin. Sweat dripped down the side of Shavans forehead but instantly disappeared to vapour. His vessels continued in that abnormal form of movement( if they're even suppose to move at all ), as more and more veins and arteries were concentrated, his right arm radiating web- like patterns. Immediately he let's loose of all internal barriers - fine vessels gave off a bright purple lambent luminance. Energy which initially would be wrongly guessed to be absent in him burst outward like a radioactive, engulfing his whole self in his own energy field, withering the grasses around his feet to nothingness. It spiralled high above the sky extending far past the height of the trees. It was Swirling, unstable, almost ready to gosh out onto the trees of the full forest. *Yes, let him feel the wrath of the beast*, Shavan thought with gritted teeth as his whole body gave out almost pure purple radiant energy.* Truly, no such energy can ever be so pure, so neat, so destructive in nature. Yes, pure yet highly unstable. It was almost as though this fluttering, raging energy with insane kinetics incomparable to the movement of a fire candle, had a mind of it own. Chunks of the earth was displaced upwards, trees blown apart and even uprooted. The noise of Lectricity ricochetted all around as purple Lectro currents fluttered all around the atmosphere like hundreds of agitated serpents, gradually darkening the forest.
The round goggled fellow had to shield his face with an arm, from the light and increasing wind current, while bouncing with muscular feet in quick succession, from Boulder to Boulder, embedded in a light depth of water. He looked behind him with eyes shivering behind circular lenses. As he jumped from a boulder the wild plasma energy chased after him crumbling the boulder he just bounced off to ashes - he's felt this radier somewhere before.
After putting lots of distance from the unknown pandamonium, he skidded to a temporary halt with his hands on the earth floor for balance. He was now in a very large clearing of the forest, with lots of tall pencil like stones ranging up to a hundred feet to the sky from the large gorge below. Instead of earth , these stone projections diped from a flowing stream of water encapsulated on both side by the extending canyon.
The boy, Blasmus or rather Blasmusoma as he was deemed, tilted his head above as he's perched on a not the tallest stone pillar, where he viewed the vertical Swirling energy that rooted up to the dark clouds from the forest trees. He knew that Shavan knows his exact location.... and likewise. * What a showoff ! * , he thought,* think you could scare off ya old buddy ,eh?*. His body shivered slightly, increasingly , then more aggressively. It wasn't out of fear of what he's witnessing but rather - excitement. His smirk grew broader into a wild malicious grin.
He crouched , palms and feet on the stone tower like a panther about to pounce on its prey.
A howl - a mad howl accompanied by large gust of wind reverberated across the forest shaking tree branches and scattering leaves.
Even though their path was blocked by numerous trees and obstacle, to them it didn't matter for they could sight each other distinctively, as though they were right in front of each other. From Shavans view: " I see. So he decided to unleash the beast - his menance on me, now didn't he. Then it's decided. We fight." he noted within purplestar, perched on the earth surrounded by ravaged trees. The earth resembling the colour of the copious energy he emitted. His body sparkled in a wide field of purple radier - controlling tens of star like, luminous-violet glass, shield like objects with spinned like a shiruikin and floated mindlessly all round his sides and above. His whole body drenched in radier-deflect armour over his Tang suit: * I'll show him that my beast is far superior. HERE WE GO ! *. In less than the blink of an eye after he crouch low, Shavan dashed forward, zooming through the forest as if it wasn't even there. He was like a comet of heated purple light cutting through the air of the forest , swinging hands and legs so rapidly that they became a blur. The paths he passed by left the trees and earth gourged out, creating a deep enlongated line on the earth that sprawled onwards as if the forest was being dissected.
The boy, Blasmus, which one would simply describe presently as a menance in flesh, could hardly be called human anymore. Yes. A beast, a demon, that's what he embodies. Inky Black vapour strolled all around like a mist, hiding most of his hideousness except his long black porcupine-like hair extending to his crouch and black scaled legs bent in semblance to a chicken wing. His eyes went pitch black and hollow, giving off a faint ring of white.
The menance raised a paw. Yes, a paw and slammed it into the stone tower on which he crouched, causing the whole structure to violently vibrate. A deafening howl escaped from the dark mist as it digged it's hind feets in the stone, building pressure gradually on its rubber-like thighs - and then, it flinged himself diagonally from the stone structure like a slingshit, the impact leading to the whole structure blown away in bits and ceasing into the water below the gourge.
It seemed as though he was weightless, his body secreting more coal vapour as he spread in the air like a flying squirrel, wavering from side to side looking for the best angle of attack. Steel white claws and saber teeth hungry for wreakage dripped black, steaming venom.
SHAVAN sighted him behind the glass face helmet of his armour which blazed fierce purple as he stride even more energetically. More heated steam slipped out of the gaps in his armour trailing behind him. What he saw upward was like a diving coagulation of black smoke heading at missile speed towards his way.
He responded: weight stabilizer boots gave a final great stump on the floor sending him erupting into the air like a single thread of light. Off course the impact left the area simply not as before.
" Here I come, SHAVAN! " the menance who happened to once be Blasmus screeched in a roaring voice
" Yes, come with all your power, I'll send you twice more, BLASMUS! ", Shavan yelled back at the top of his voice.
The hurling black smoke gaining devil speed and the purple blazing comet - both collided.
The day became night at once as numerous large globules of twisting radier went ablaze colouring everything in it's unavoidable explosion. The whole area went white.
Verily, the war of dominance, the war of greed, the war hinging on believes and ideals of hundreds of warriors rages on, non-stop.
