Rebecca called me at like 6 pm because she was confused about something related to homework. I just told her that she came to the wrong person for advice, because I too had no idea what to do.
I teasingly said, “Why don’t you call Dominick? He’d be totally down to help you?”
Confusingly she said, “Why? I mean, I didn’t know he was good at school.”
Seriously, this girl can’t take an obvious hint.
I said, “Dude, I was kidding. I just said that because he likes you.”
She didn’t say anything for a minute, “Really? Is he? I didn’t know.”
Was this girl for real. It’s not like Dominick was hiding it.
I just said, “Oh honey, you’re too innocent. Of course he likes you. You don’t see him driving the opposite way to pick anyone up!”
She laughed and we just talked about Nick for a while.
Well, now we know Becca is an innocent doll.
Just to be clear, she’d made friends in the wrong friend group. This innocence was going to wash off soon.
With that, we hung up.
