"Vaya, it seems that your relationship isn't so innocent after all, you almost devoured that man in the car."

"ANABEL."

"Don't worry little sister, I won't tell anything to our parents."

She said as she walked away, but not before unleashing her venom.

"Although next time I hope he doesn't reject you, poor thing, your boyfriend clearly doesn't desire you in the slightest, believe me, it was hard to watch how he pushed you away."

She said in a mocking tone.

Anastasia became upset: -Stop talking about things you don't know, things didn't happen like that.

Anabel gave her one last malicious smile.

"Whatever, he rejected you anyway, at least no man has rejected me."

Anastasia decided not to give her sister any importance and went towards her room, passing by her she shook her head.

"You're wrong."

The next day they were at the university with their friend Emma.

"Wow, I can't believe it, friend, congratulations."

Her friend said sincerely while giving her a tight hug.

Anastasia smiled. -Thanks Emma.

"Wow, I still can't believe it, my friend is getting married, my God, I have to be your maid of honor, please let me be your maid of honor."

She insisted in an ecstatic manner.

"Of course you'll be my maid of honor, but it won't be anything big for now, David wants us to get married as soon as possible and I would be lying if I said I don't feel the same."

"I'm glad you're very happy, friend, I love you a lot."

She said while hugging her tightly.

"You know I love you too, Emma, you're my best friend."

"Hello, girls, what are you doing?"

David asked, taking his girlfriend by the waist and planting a big kiss on her lips.

"My love, hello, I was telling Emma that..."

"That you finally caught her with your nets, that's what she was telling me, you kept it well hidden, David, Marriage, my God, that's amazing."

David smiled. "That's right, it's time, actually, I thought about asking her to live together first, but since I know my beautiful girlfriend is very conservative, I thought it would be best to take the plunge and get married."

He said while embracing the girl.

"Congratulations to both of you, I know you'll be very happy, because you know, David, if you make my friend suffer, I'll come after you, right?"

She said the last part trying to appear serious. The couple smiled and left the place hand in hand.

Days passed and David had taken a part-time job at an architecture company, with the money they paid him plus the monthly allowance he received for his studies, the boy managed to rent a small but comfortable apartment near the university. Even though he spent less time with his beloved, he was satisfied knowing that soon he would have her all to himself in his apartment.

That night was Anabel's big engagement party, so Anastasia was in the mansion finishing her makeup.

Knock-knock

"Come in."

"Hello, Anastasia."

The girl looked surprised at the person in front of her.

"Patrick, what are you doing here?"

"I came to see you, I wanted to greet you, see how you're doing."

"Please, leave my room, I don't want anyone to come and misunderstand things."

"I'll only bother you for five minutes, please, I want to ask for your forgiveness, I know I hurt you a lot and believe me, I am sorry, please forgive me."

"Patrick, what happened between us is in the past, now you're going to be my sister's husband, so I thank you for having the courtesy not to cross my path from now on, I don't want Anabel to misunderstand things."

The man unexpectedly approached and took the girl's face to give her an unrestrained kiss, Anastasia tried to push him away, but he had more strength.

Anabel, who was passing by the hallway, noticed her sister's room door open, as she tried to enter, she saw the scene, anger filled her.

She said to herself, and without anyone noticing, she left the place.

Anastasia managed to free herself from her brother-in-law's strong grip and then slapped him hard.

"What's wrong with you, idiot?"

"Forgive me, forgive me, I couldn't control myself."

"You're going to be my sister's husband, are you crazy? Go away, I don't want to see you."

She told him in an irritated tone.

The man left the room and went to where his fiancee was. The party went on peacefully, although there was tension between Anastasia and Patrick. David couldn't accompany the girl because he had a lot of university work.

"Hi daughter, how are you?"

"Fine daddy, I need to talk to you."

"I'm all ears, tell me."

"Dad, it's just that, how do I say it, David proposed to me and I said yes."

She replied excitedly.

The man immediately hugged her and congratulated her.

"My love, I'm so happy for you, you know I adore you and all I want is your happiness."

Anastasia was at the mall with David.

"Finally, I can have you to myself for an afternoon."

"I'm sorry beautiful, but it's for the sake of both of us, you know with this job we'll be able to get married soon."

Anastasia nodded resignedly.

"I understand, but I don't know, maybe you haven't thought about the fact that we're rushing things."

David stopped in his tracks and turned to look the girl in the eyes.

"Ana, are you serious? Don't you want to marry me anymore?"

"It's not that, you know, I do want to get married, but look David, lately we don't even see each other, we barely exchange words at university, and I don't want it to be like this, I don't want to lose my boyfriend, I know money is important, but love, I miss you and I don't want us to lose our relationship, please understand."

"All I can understand is that you don't love me enough, is that it? Tell me, don't you love me anymore?"

He said in an irritated tone.

"Of course I love you, but I don't want to see you exhaust yourself every day trying to keep up with work and university."

With those words, he hurriedly walked away from the girl.

"David, don't leave me here alone, DAVID."

The man didn't listen and quickly left the mall.

Ana arrived home feeling very disheartened, and to top off her bad day, her sister was waiting for her at the entrance.

"Well, look who finally decided to show up."

"I'm not in the mood for your snide comments, Anabel."
