In that very darkness that enveloped the girl, a faint white light got brighter and brighter as it spread from her head to the rest of her body and a sudden flash! She disappeared.
Meanwhile, in a luxurious house’s attic, ‘slap’ ‘slap’ ‘slap’. Three crisp slaps broke the morning’s calm atmosphere.
The attic was dark and musty with only a muddy blanket and rather clean desk with stacks of papers.
A person was huddled in the corner and shivering nonstop as if he or shehad justfallen in a ice river.
“Mom, look at this idiot! She is so stupid that she could not even match my handwriting. Moreover, she looked at me! Yuck, with her ugly face and bug eyes!” Shouted a girl dressed in light blue dress dotted with jewels.
“Ru Yin, don’t bother with her, does your hand hurt? Here let me wipe it, don’t let her dirty body dirty you!”, said another woman pamperedly who was dressed in a dark blue evening dress also dotted with jewels.
“This idiot couldn’t match my handwriting causing that stupid inspector to get suspicious at me!”, whined Ling Ru Yin. She glared at the shivering mess on the floor, her originally innocent face was now twisted with malice and wickedness seeped through her eyes as she thought of something. “Mom, it’s been alwhile since that idiot went through ’that’ right? She has been too relaxed, we need to punish her a little!”
The word ‘that’ was stretched out with a mischievous smirk and that word was precisely what made the dirty bundle on the ground jerk and start to violently push herself against the wall as if trying to disappear into it.
“No! No! I will I will do good! Good! I will!” The bundle finally looked up, she spoke in a hurried tone that overflowed with horror. Even though the dirt and red marks from the slaps made her look very haggard, one could tell that she had very elegant features. Her tears were on the verge of her doll like eyes and looked very pitiful. Any normal person would rush to help but instead this mother and daughter pair’s eyes gleamed with jealousy as they saw the girl’s face.
“Ling Qian Xue, you ugly b***h, let me help you learn how to obey now!”, the woman sweetly said with a nefarious look on her face. She strode over and grabbed the girl by the hair and started towing her to the door.
The girl feebly struggled but due to lack of energy and proper meals, she fainted in the process.
The mother and daughter pair walked down the stairs with elegance and everything looked normal if it wasn’t for the body trailing behind them. The maids scattered or looked away as if this was a normal occurrence. Soon the trio arrived at the basement.
The basement was surprisingly fragrant and bright with princess furniture meticulously ordered around the room. The soft pink fabric fluttered as the mother and daughter settled down on the couch. Ling Qian Xue instead was thrown on a patched up rug. The rug was stained with blood and dirt as well as some fishy fried marks.
When Ling Qian Xue caught a whiff of the burnt and bloody smell, she immediately sat up and stared around at the room. Terror, sadness, and a tinge of disappointment filled her eyes. She didn’t dare move a muscle and could only shift into a kneeling motion while looking at her hands.
“That’s right idiot, you look just like your mother now. Lowly and shameless. Funny, isn’t today her anniversary?” The woman taunted. Her heavily makeup eyes slid across Ling Qian Xue, a sneer forced on her face as she observed how Ling Qian Xue tensed up.
“Yeah mother, that lowlife tried to kill her own daughter to win favor with father! Thankfully mother acted fast and burned that b***h down.” Followed Ling Ru Yin.
“Qian Xue, do you remember how she begged you to work for us? On her knees? Pft, a noblewoman...more like a **********!” Continued the woman.
Ling Qian Xue shuddered as she clenched her jaw trying to hold back tears.
“That lowlife designed this room for you when you were born, but look, isn’t this the room where she abused you to give us entertainment?” Ling Ru Yin laughed, “she still blamed you even in her last moments, calling you what? Ungrateful! To think you became a servant for that woman!”
Ling Qian Xue shook, no one knew whether it was from regret or dejection.
The woman looked behind her and flicked her finger. Two bodyguards took out a iron chair with shackles and a plug.
Ling Qian Xue looked up, she took one last look around the room remembering how happy her life was until Ling Ru Yin and her mother turned up at the door as the third party. That’s right. She was the legitimate daughter. But she has been a servant...no, a slave and was forced to complete papers and experiments that were accredited to Ling Ru Yin.
Why, just why couldn’t she be braver and crueler to gain father’s appreciation...just let this be. I give up.
With that, Ling Qian Cue was shackled to the chair. The bodyguards looked at the woman and she nodded, indicating to start.
The switch was flipped and the electricity traveled through the wires before filling the chair with sparks. The air sizzled as the small sparks occasionally lept out. Ling Qian Xue bit her lips, refusing to give the mother and daughter pair their satisfaction. The sparks seeped into her nerves, seemingly frying them and picking at them with little knives. Gradually, the pain turned into numbness and Ling Qian Xue started to experience brain compression. She forced open her tightly shut eyes and looked at the two sitting on the couch leisurely. It overlapped with a distant memory... “Mama, will you love me forever?” ... “Yes darling, I will pamper you forever.”.
Why do I have to live like this? What did I do to deserve this? I am not willing. What type of death is this, at least I want to die gloriously and by my own will. Sigh, if only....only....o..one... more...cha...chance.....
Ling Qian Xue stopped breathing and trembling. The woman frowned and motioned to the bodyguard. The electric chair was turned off.
“Mom, that idiot didn’t faint again right? Idiot and weak. Revolting!”, mocked Ling Ru Qing as she rolled her eyes.
The woman stepped forward and lifted Ling Qian Xue’s chin, the put her finger under her nose. She froze. Ling Ru Qing finally noticed something was wrong and quickly walked over.
“No way, ha, stupid idiot died, wait...then who will do my homework mom?!?”
“Shut up! Your dad...he...he won’t let this go!”, screeched the woman anxiously. She turned around and was just about to attempt to slap Ling Qian Xue’s face when the pair of doll eyes opened.
The black eyes where no longer filled with emotions, it was empty like a void sucking whoever that looks in them away to the depths of h*ll.
The woman took a step back in fright, she trembled slightly as she looked at Ling Quan Xue.
“Ling Qian Xue, huh.” Muttered Ling Qian Xue. Then her eyes turned scarlet.
