Death

In a dark room lined with white cabinets and a operating table in the middle, a girl was lying on the cool surface of the metallic board.

Her cheeks were sunken in and her limbs could be mistaken as bones. She was wearing a tattered white outfit marked with a X15016847 streaked with blood marks and an suspicious green stain on the collar.

The room was damp with an indescribable stench emitting from the jars in the cabinets.

The girl’s limbs were heavily secured with thick chains that had a neon light running through them, occasionally sparking like electric currents. The doors and observing windows were also fastened with bars.

A click was heard and a middle aged man dressed in a white lab coat stepped in. He had grey streaked black hair and golden rimmed spectacles on the tip of his nose. He had a scrawny build with sharp eagle like eyes. He was also accompanied by two buff looking bodyguards, each who reeked of blood.

The girl slowly opened her phoenix eyes and her hand twitched, one could see that she took a huge amount of energy just to make such a small movement. She stared unemotionally at the trio, even the haggardness could not hide her grace and beauty.

The middle aged man walked over and scanned his eyes over her body before turning to a screen beside the operating table.

“Strange, she is drugged and should be in comatose form. Just how strong is her consciousness for her to be awake?”, muttered the old man.

He grinned eerily and looked over at the girl and signaled to the two bodyguards. They nodded and walked over to first check the chains on the girl and then turned to one of the cabinets and took out a vial with muddy green liquid.

One of them smirked and roughly grabbed the girl’s mouth and pinched it open, dumping the contents down. The girl’s eyes glazed over but soon recovered their clarity.

The middle-aged man squinted and his composure could not hide his perverted excitement anymore. He broke out in wild laughter that echoed in the room which soon attracted some more researchers.

“What happened?! Has our little bird made a breakthrough?” Cried a fatty who wobbled into the room with another colleague that walked briskly as if he had no joints.

The middle aged man turned to them and uttered, “It’s time.”

The three researcher’s faces turned solemn and ordered the two toady bodyguards to leave.

“Lao Yin, are you sure?”, the fatty somberly said, “There is turning back and remember, she is our only success from the last round of gene therapy!”

“I know fatty, but all the data proves she can withstand it! It’s perfect!”, Refuted the middle aged man.

The no-joints guy also nodded to show his approval. Their organization has tested over 20 million geniuses over 200 years, perhaps...just maybe would they finally be able to achieve the...no...they can’t. The risk is too huge, this girl was their only progress ever since that boy...never mind. It would not matter if it was only a drop...right?

Twenty minutes later after surrounding the room with layers of anti radiation covering and operating a robot with a syringe filled with one tiny drop of a clear substance from another room 1000 kilometers away.

Fatty rubbed his hands in anticipation, even no-joint widened his eyes, and the middle aged man entered a code with shaking fingers. After a series of electronic sounds, the robot finally moved.

The girl looked at the approaching needle with lifeless eyes. She slackened her tense muscles and counted the seconds before the needle pierced her skin and the liquid spread through her veins.

The first second she vowed for revenge and to repay this favor with nothing but blood and suffering (rest of vow is omitted due to R rated cursing and death threats) in the 18 layers of h*ll.

Second second she made a mental note to complete that vow.

Third and last second she sighed internally and wondered, this could be the best death she could wish for in this h*llish place.

The next second happened so suddenly that she didn’t even have the capability to think as the pain rocked her body and all her nerves were amplified with her senses blocking off the outside world. The feeling of reconstructing all your flesh and bones and ripping them apart to pour chili and garlic sauce on them then sprinkling it with salt and then....blackness.

The last calm moment she had before submerging in the stifling yet comfy darkness was spent on two thoughts.

First, those three idiots watching the live video feedback from 1000 kilometers away are probably staring their eyes out and praying for me to recover right?

Second, I am not willing. What type of death is this, at least I want to die fighting. Sigh, if only....only....o..one...more...cha...chance.....
