Father's words keep echoing in my head.

And now, why is there only disgust in her eyes as I look up at her face?

"I can't believe you'd grew so much like that woman." My stepmother says as she looks at me without any hint of pity.

"Mo-mother?" Xiao Meng gasped.

"Yes, it is I. The woman who will take everything from you."

"No, p-please mo-mother!, what ha-have I done wrong? wh-why are you doing this?" I mumbled with fear as I crawl towards her. Tears are slowly flushing in my eyes. I grasped towards her feet and begged for mercy. However, it seems like she doesn't hear anything from me at all.

"Mo-mother, p-please, let me-me go." I cried once more. Hoping that this was all a dream, a nightmare that'll surely pass once I wake up. Xiao Feng never thought that this would happen. She could barely remember feeling dizzy after drinking the wine her stepmother gave to her as soon as she received the emerald necklace.

"Lan Xiao Feng, after all my struggles, I've finally reached the end of my goal which is to remove you from this world"

"Why? How could you? Tell me wh-why? I've always ta-taught that you considered me as you-your own daughter, so why? why?!" Xiao Feng could see the bitterness of the eyes on the woman in front of her. She could not fathom how her stepmother could ever tempt to kill her.

"Silly girl, you are nothing for me but a hindrance to my schemes." She said as she grabbed a gun and told her men to go outside. She wants to enjoy this moment alone, like how she did several years ago with her first victim.

"This was way more fun. Killing your mother was way to quick that I forgot it ever existed"

Xiao Feng froze on what she heard. She couldn't believe what her stepmother confessed in front of her.

"Why? Hahaha, do you really think your mother died in an accident? You are all fools! Hahahahahaha."

"You're a wickeeed woman! Screw you! I shouldn't have believed in you! I trusted you with all my-my heart! Ho-how could you do this to me! Nooo!" Xiao Feng screamed with all her heart. Anger slowly rose from her heart. She tried her best to break free from the ties and wish she could strangle the woman in front of her.

"Enough of your whining. Goodbye Lan Xiao Feng! Hahahaha"

Before her stepmother could pull the trigger, Xiao Feng, with all her remaining strength, stood up and pushed her to the ground. As fast as she could, although the place around her was unfamiliar, she tried her best to run away and find a place to escape. Alas, unafraid of the consequences, she jumped on the window.

"Argggh! All men! Find her! And make sure to give her to me alive! I want to be the one to kill her!" Biting her lips, the stepmother angrily stood up and ran to search for Xiao Feng together with the men outside.

Blood flows from her head down to her body. Xiao Meng feels a little dizzy. Still, she run as far as she could. But it seems like the heavens has been cruel to her as she found herself in dead end.

There are tons of men surrounding her. Her stepmother then lifted her gun and pointed it towards her.

Xiao Feng looked behind. There she realized that there's no other way out. She looked above and knew that she's going to meet her end.

Either to die through the bullet from her cruel stepmother or die falling from the cliff, Xiao Meng chose the path where she knew she died without her stepmother seeing it.

"Now that we're in this moment, say hello to your stupid and weak mother in hell! Hahahahaha!"

Xiao Feng jumped off even before her stepmother shot her.

As she fell, Xiao Feng remembered what her father said at the grand hall.

"Cheers to my beautiful daughter, my pride, the heir of Lan Medicals, Lan Xiao Feng. Happy 21st Birthday may all your wishes come true,"

She smirked, realizing that there is something that she wishes for in this life. As her cold body fell from the ground, droplets of rain starts to land on her. Xiao Feng stared at the starless sky. Regretting the fact that she trusted that woman whom she thought was a mother for her. Lan Xiao Feng, the Great Medical Student, was betrayed by her own family.

Before her heart stopped beating, she shouted deep inside:

"If there is another life, I would avenge my death and hunt all of you!"

The moment she breathed her last breath, the heavens fulfilled her poor soul's wish.
