Juan David Ochoa Vásquez (April 13, 1946 – 25 July 2013) was a Colombian drug trafficker and one of the founders of the Medellín Cartel, a major drug trafficking cartel based in the city of Medellín.[1]

Juan David was the elder brother of Jorge Luis and Fabio Ochoa Vásquez\, powerful figures inside the Medellín Cartel.[2][3]

In January 1991, Juan David Ochoa Vásquez, together with his brother Jorge Luis, turned themselves in to the Colombian government to receive the benefits of collaborating with the judicial system. Juan David Ochoa negotiated a surrender and was imprisoned in a medium-security prison outside Medellín.[4] In January 1996, as the result of a sentence plea bargain with the state, Juan David Ochoa Vásquez was released from prison after serving five years.

José Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha (May 14, 1947 – December 15, 1989), also known by the nickname El Mexicano, was a Colombian drug lord who was one of the leaders of the notorious Medellín Cartel along with the Ochoa Brothers and Pablo Escobar. At the height of his criminal career, Rodríguez was acknowledged as one of the world's most successful drug dealers. In 1988, Forbes magazine included him in their annual list of the world's billionaires.

CARLOS LEHDER

Carlos Enrique Lehder Rivas (born September 7\, 1949)[4] is a German-Colombian former drug lord who was co-founder of the Medellín Cartel. He was released from prison in the United States after 33 years in 2020.[5][6] Born in Armenia\, Colombia\, Lehder eventually ran a cocaine transport empire on Norman's Cay island\, 210 miles (340 km) off the Florida coast in the central Bahamas.[5][7]

Lehder was one of the founding members of Muerte a Secuestradores ("MAS")\, a paramilitary group whose focus was to retaliate against the kidnappings of cartel members and their families[5] by the guerrillas.[8][9][10][11] His motivation to join the MAS was to retaliate against the M-19 guerrilla movement\, which\, in November 1981\, attempted to kidnap him for a ransom; Lehder managed to escape from the kidnappers\, though he was shot in the leg.[12] He was one of the most important MAS and Medellin Cartel operators and is considered to be one of the most important Colombian drug kingpins to have been successfully prosecuted in the United States.

Additionally, Lehder founded "a neo-Nazi political party", the National Latin Movement, whose main function, police said, appeared to be to force Colombia to abrogate its extradition treaty with the United States.
