Chapter 4

Lucy's POV:

But he couldn't control himself, and he tried to touch my private part by lower his head, and having his hand on my hip. I used this time as my opportunity.

I stabbed with my pocket knife into his throat, before he could retract I made a deep cut in his throat with another knife. Made a clean cut so no blood can spill or even leave my trace. I can't keep running, need to find a way to stay and fight back to live in this world.

I left the place immediately after finishing my work. Made it crystal clear no trace of mine left behind in the crime scene.

I covered my self with a hoodie and left through the way I already had prepared as my escape path. I reached my home and got in through my window.

I didn't think anything of the incident and went straight to bed.

Something was ringing in my room. I got shocked as alarm alone will ring in my room but it different sound.

I got up and chased the sound to found it coming from my bag. It's then I realised that it was the mobile given by that bastard my Co worker. Yes, I still have the mobile given by him. I made it sure with him before meeting yesterday that it was bought using a fake ID so he won't be caught if his family knows. This was a great idea forme to use as I don't any ID proof.

I decided to be cunning, as this world only allows you to live if your strong and ruthless.

As usual I went to my work. I completely forgot about the yesterday night's incident. When I reached restaurant in the evening there was no news about my Co worker. And I ignored it as it is not important to me.

As usual days went by. Almost about 15th day, I felt someone is watching me. Though at starting I thought it was my hallucinations. But as days went by I clearly know someone eyeing me. But I couldn't guess who it can be. I even felt someone following me. This made me curious and also scared. So all these days I ran into my room through front door, so the follower won't be able to know my secret way.

Yet still I have my courage to face anything.

This feel went on for days to weeks. But I was cautious during all this time.

Its almost a month and a half, today I went to evening work as usual. I saw several people were discussing. It didn't bother, as I don't talk with any people from here, other than just smiling at each other when meet face to face.

"Do you know, Daniel. He didn't show up for weeks and no news from him. Even his family, wife and children said they last had word with him was nearly two months" said a workers (1)

"what¡¡¡ two months. Didn't they file a missing case on him" said another work(2).

"yes they did. As he will call them every 15 days once. Now it's almost two months and no news" said a worker (1)

"What do you think could have happen, did some robbed him? " said another worker (2)

After listening for a while I ignored and went back to my work. It's almost an hour later, I heard siren sound and heard people whispering to one another.

My Boss and his wife (I call her Sister) came in and asked all of us to gather. I and other workers gathered to in front of the store. Police was discussing something with our boss and with his wife. And they started to enquire every single workers there.

Now it's my turn I stood there nodding my head as yes and no for there question. All I fear was only for my identity. As I was being enquired, Sister came near to us "I'm sorry to interrupt, she is a mute girl and she don't even join with anyone here. She is always been alone." The police officer gave a look from top to bottom. And left to other Co worker for investigation. I smiled at Sister and nodded my head saying thank you. She tabbed my shoulder and went with police officer. We weren't allowed to continue our work until late night. My work also was in pending.

It really took enitre work day for the investigation. Later, we were left to do our work. I made it as quick as possible but, still lot of work are in pending. I cursed on the officer for delaying our work. Now I need to extend and finish. Sister asked me to leave for the day. But I want to finish it today or else it will be a work burden for me when I come back tomorrow. It really took lot of time for me to finish the work. Once I finished I said "Thank you" with my hand gesture to Sister and my Boss as they stayed back to keep me accompanied. I left the restaurant and went out. Again, it's there; the same feeling of being watched and being followed.

Now, again I need to take the main door way to enter my room. If I accidentally go through my secret way, it will be a fatal for me. I reached my place and was about to go upstairs. Someone grabbed my wrist, I panicked and turn around, but within in a blink the man hover me pushing to the wall. I thought of grabbing my knife. But before I could do it, I heard voice; commanding voice. "Do you have a death wish. You know you can't force people who live here. If they run away being scared and our deals spill out. It's a rule here until the people live here they can't be forced." He was tall with bulk body, yet handsome. But he has lot of scars in his face.

The man instantly left my hand and gave hard look. I just stood there with no emotion on my face, and kept looking the that man." hmm" and the person how helped me cleared his throat for my attention. I turned over him and looked at him. He stared for a minute into my eyes. And then he gave a deep look from top to bottom. I didn't move from my place or didn't shiver either as I don't have a death wish offending the person standing in front of me.

He came close to me, while I kept staring at him without even blinking. "I have seen you here several times. I hope you keep your mouth shut. I know you are mute, but still no information should be spilled from here. As I saw you once, working in a restaurant."

He passed "if you like I can give you a highly paid job. But you are not allowed to go from here at any cost".

I just gave a smile and nodded my head as no. And with my hand gesture I said "I'm fine with the job I have. And if I need further help I will definitely come to you."

He laughed and shake his head "You don't even have a hint of fear in your eyes, it's making more curious to know about you"

I took a deep breath and hold it. Then released a minute later. All this time he was staring at me.

I hand gesture him saying "Not so, might be you feel like that"

I never make mistake when I judge a person. Soon I will make you agree to work for me. You will really be a helpful person for my work" while saying this he smirked at me and went.

Again and again, it's here. Though all this time I was concerned about the situation but I can still feel of being watched. But as far as I can see, I see no one around. And this is definitely not hallucination. As of now, I can't do anything, but came to know about a powerful person who is interested in me working with them I can use that opportunity to save myself. Thinking so I went into my room after unlocking it. As, well made it clear I lock it back. I don't want to give any chance to my stalker.

I went to bed and slept off. I woke up to a message sound. "Seriously, who could have known my contact number" mumering I took the phone and saw.

I instantly dropped the phone seeing the message it almost stopped my heart beat...
