Consequences

...We all have to take consequences for our actions. That is the one unwritten rule that catches up with us sooner or later. And so I woke up on Thursday with an unpleasant premonition....

...That morning I was so absent-minded that I didn't even greet the old lady....

...I even missed my train and had to wait for the next one....

...To my displeasure, my premonition was confirmed and even before the entrance to my school I was approached by someone....

...He introduced himself as my father's assistant and politely asked me to get into the car....

...I refused and wanted to go further....

...However, I was stopped by two men....

...The assistant assured me that it was very important. I looked at him and although I knew that it was not his fault. I answered harshly, "So was my mother's funeral for me."...

...He looked at me for a moment and with a wave of his hand indicated to the two men to take me with them....

...A few minutes later the car stopped in front of a magnificent estate and they opened the car door for me....

...I got out and followed the assistant inside....

...We walked through a large, luxurious entrance hall and hallways decorated with paintings. Up for a black oak door....

...The assistant knocked and then entered followed by me....

...There he sat, the man I didn't really want to see again. Wearing a dark blue suit that I was sure was tailor-made, he was sitting behind a massive desk....

...He looked at me and said to his assistant that he could go out....

...After the assistant had left us alone, I asked without further ado what he wanted....

...He eyed me again and replied "I suppose you read the paper, then you should know why you are here."...

...I said back, slightly annoyed, "Your wife has cheated on you and laid a cuckoo's egg in your nest, and now you need an heir of your blood. And if you think I have to rejoice now then you have proven yourself wrong I want nothing to do with you!"...

..."It's not about what you want with this development of events you are the only heir and therefore from today you will be prepared to take over the Krownberg Empire" he replied ignorantly....

...And of course I was not going to accept it like that. "I'm not one of your puppets and I'm not your son, that's how you decided it yourself," I shouted at him. But he just laughed and answered that it didn't matter, I couldn't change it....

...Your rooms are prepared, you can move into them immediately and because of your school education I will try to find you a place at an appropriate school....

...You are dismissed, go to your room....

...And with that he ended the conversation....

...His assistant entered again and led me to my new room....

...After I was finally alone, I looked around and it was a large and bare room with large windows....

...I opened all the closet doors and drawers and sure enough, everything I needed was there in the right size. The clothes were now still necessarily my style but the school utensils were all in my favorite color blue....

...I lay down after my such action on the bed and thought about my future....

...I didn't really want this kind of life. I had been happier with my small apartment and my best friend....

...Running away was not an option at that time because my father had increased the security precautions. I might have gotten as far as the front door but no further....

...I was angry and desperate....

...After a while I fell asleep with tears in my eyes....
