Chapter 4.1: Band or Bond?

“It has been a month since the day we have officially started this class. (He paused for a moment and went to the entrance of the room)” Mr. Richivarit gestured and commanded the person outside to get inside the room.

“Everyone! Someone will introduce himself” he said

“S̄wạs̄dī kab thuk khn! C̄hạn chụ̄̀x Star c̄hạn dīcı thī̀ dị̂ phb khuṇ nı thī̀s̄ud c̄hạn h̄wạng ẁā reā ca k̄hêā kạn dị̂” (Hi all! my name is Star, I am glad to finally meet you. I hope we can get along.) He formally introduced himself and smiled at them.

“Too formal Star (chuckled) do you have any questions for him?” He faced the class and found Rach raising her hand.

“Why is he introducing himself?” she asked.

It seems off. But, the Midnight class has its flow for introduction (Name and Core Ability). The others were looking at Rach and went back to Star as they knew what she was talking about.

“Ohh how silly am I -- (cleared his throat) Hi again! (waived at everyone) My name is Elijah Dāw or Star and my core abilities are Flash and Superhuman strength” he smiled and took a bow.

They gazed in awe after hearing that Star has two core abilities.

Was that for real? 

Was that even legal?

How???

“We will have a huge test today and it is just timely that everyone is here. (he extended his hand and everyone noticed that the view outside turned into daylight). Since we are doing an exam, I kind of adjusted the level of isolation that we gave over here” he turned around and started writing something on the board.

The students felt different from how they used to, some felt a bit dizzy, some felt sleepy -- hungry etc.

“Did you guys feel that too?” Claire asked

“What do you mean?” Rach asked too

They got shocked when they heard a sound as if someone fell, it was Claire. Gon stood up and check on her right away, Mr. Richivarit went out for a moment to check on something. Gon carried Claire and went to the clinic --

“Was there anyone in the clinic?” he was asking himself.

“We saw what happened -- bring her here” The nurse welcomed them with that statement.

“She was feeling a bit different that’s what i have heard and -- and then she fell after that” Gon said.

*Classroom*

“What was that?” Rach whispered

“The exam” Star said

“What do you mean?” Rach looked at him, waiting for the explanation

“Measuring the level of our physical and mental capability.” he said

Gon entered the room and heard what they were talking about “Balance (he walked towards them and stood in front) . Apparently Star is right, but unfortunately -- this is not yet part of the exam. Claire was just weak for this kind of imbalance. The parallel world stretched further than usual for the exam.” he looked at Fight

“Well Mr. Richivarit is using our alter ego in the parallel world to run the class god for the entire night time-- 12 hours. But, now it was stretched to --” he was interrupted by Rach

“24!?” she said

“72 hours” C and Unix answered

There was an awkward silence after they answered the question.

Silence got broken when Mr. Richivarit entered the room with Claire.

“Are you okay now?” Gon secretly asked, and she said she was already fine.

“Because of what happened with Claire we have decided to have a special class where you guys will be tested physically as well. Star (he leaned comfortably on the table) you are physically active and I can say advanced because you developed -- discovered your ability earlier than the rest. Gon and Fight you two are both members of varsity, Unix -- hhmm with your life outside the Warrior Class what do you have?” He obviously knew the answer but he just wanted Unix to share it to the class.

“Ahh… I am required to do a set of training - physical training to maintain my figure.” He said

“You are also known for being an ambassador of brands that promotes healthy habits. Now -- let see… Surprisingly, C is part of the street fighting team of our school.. Now I am left with you two ladies…” he was referring to Claire and Rach.

Rach felt uncomfortable when she heard Mr. Richivarit

“Now -- Let us have the details of your exam. (he wrote พันธนาการมรณะ) Once the sun laid its rest the exam will officially begin” he walked out and leave the warriors alone in the room.

They were surprised because after Mr. Richivarit left they noticed a colored bond on their wrists…

Gon and Claire - Red

C and Unix - Green

Fight and Rach - Black

Star - White

“This is my chance” Gon whispered.
