Chapter 3.2: Ranma 1/2

Unix’s POV

I’d been observing myself… Sooner or later I should be able to introduce myself in the class. But, I’d like for her to know me first. I am not that girl that she usually calls “Friend”. I can;t be that girl, I don’t want to be just that girl.

Whenever I get close to her I change to the girl version of me. I think they have a connection, but I have to be sure about it. I can’t ask anyone regarding this. For sure they will feel strange about it.

“Hey Unix” Claire greeted me “You seem spacing out -- what is it? You can share” she smiled at me and tapped my shoulder as a comforting gesture.

“Ahmm -- (i hesitated for a moment) If, if -- if someone who is close to you, like a friend would hide something but not because they want to hurt you (i stuttered) they are just looking for a right timing. What would you feel?” there I said it.

She held my hand and said “If someone lied to me I will feel hurt and sad about it -- But, if a friend will have an excuse and ask for forgiveness sincerely (she paused) I think -- Nope, I am sure I would be able to forgive him” She let go of my hand and looked at me “Go talk to your friend! Don’t waste your time” she said and left.

She’s right! I might get scolded with this -- or she will punch me right on my face. But, at least I no longer need to hide my true self from her.

Athletic Ground

Oh My GOD!!! That’s Stella and Ruiz… 

Oh My --- C is too violent

Folks were walking and I panicked when I heard C’s name.

“Hey! Where are they?” I asked one of the girls talking

“Ahhmmm (she was blushing) they were there in the athletic ground” she pointed on the direction

I rushed and ran I have to save her, I have to save her I kept on telling myself.

After running and rushing -- I found her. She was different, her eyes were swollen… She cried…

“Your acting like that because of some stupid shades?” the girl Stella was yelling and trying to cover her face

C was walking towards her and the two girls were too frightened. She was about to hit her but thank god I was able to stop her.

I hugged her and asked her to calm down “I am here -- calm down… Please calm down” I whispered softly, holding her tight “I am here”

Stella and Ruiz ran and went. I don't know where. I looked at C, she was silent -- trembling

“The shades you gave me --” she was holding them with her hands “They broke it” she started crying like a baby “I kept it, i asked them to stay away and to give it back… But --” she kept on talking. I know she didn’t start any of those --

“It will get better” I was shocked when I heard the voice that came out my mouth. C looked at me and gave me a surprised and confused look “It’s me (I unconsciously talked and kept going on) I --  I always wanted to talk to you, be close to you and be your friend to protect you.” I knew my voice would start trembling “I don’t want to scare you and to make you feel uncomfortable having me around. When (i sniffed, my nose is getting stuffed) when i saw that you were in trouble my reflex, mind and heart all agreed that I should save you.” i said while looking down, i can’t face her.

“So you changed into a girl just to lie --” she was talking but I interrupted her right away

“No! It was not my intention. I always get scared that you will run away. The first time I talked to you was the first day I think I discovered my ability. I think today -- out of all the ordinary days. I became more brave, more brave to talk to you and to protect you.”

She gave me a smile, gently squeezed my hand as she grabbed them and walked away.
