CHAPTER 2: THE NIGHTMARE

Riya POV

"Aaah (scream)....no...no..sob' sob'...it sob' can't...be..." came a desperate voice which shook us all from the shock. Then i gasped for air by seeing the scene in front of me which was beyond horrible. I turned around and tightly hugged Dai. I was glad that it was not Sam but seeing the woman crying like that broke my heart. Whoever maybe the person lying on the ground dead, either good or bad, did not deserve an end like this. After all she's a human and no human deserves such a cruel death. Unknowingly sorrowful tears welled up in my eyes... landing one by one on the ground smoothly.

AUTHOR POV

The face of the corpse had innumerable injuries, but still the face was identifiable. Her eyes were stuck and wide open. It felt as if she was staring at me. The lips were black and had deep teeth bite marks as if someone had bitten it cruelly. The body was completely ***** and contained brutal injuries. She had so many cigarette burn marks all over her n*k*d body and there were whip and bite marks also. It was clear that she was raped and tortured to death mercilessly by a inhumane monster. Her hands and legs were tightly tied with ropes. There were few glass pieces pierced all over her body.

The most horrible thing was, there were hundreds of maggots squirming in and out of her female part and on her thighs. Few hundreds of maggots were eating the flesh of her ****** and neck and had deeply penetrated her skin making it look like a honeybee comb. And i'm scared so much as i hate those tiny-little squirming disgusting worms. The corpse was skinny. Her wrists had black bruises due to struggling. Retrieving her body was going to take few hours as to avoid further damage to her.

There were two problems: One was the maggots and the other was untying her from the firmly wrapped ropes and deeply pierced glass shards. Even a stranger would feel heartbroken seeing her. Let alone her own family. This poor soul was used like some sort of tissue, used to satisfy a monsters desire, tortured her for his pleasure and was thrown away like a rag, worthless. The ruthless monster after satiyfying himself has murdered her so mercilessly and abandoned her body to be feasted by maggots. Not only could she save her dignity and self-esteem, but also the one and only life she had. She could not live it to her satisfaction.

Even though it is hard to believe, but there are so many young girls who had gone through this hell of a pain and died horrifically. The countless dreams they had were first shattered into pieces and then into nothingness. They did not get a choice to live instead they're left to die. No one, f***ing no one deserves a death like this.

Daisy POV

Being the most brave and calm one among the three of us, even i was shaken seeing the scene in front of me. After seeing the corpse, Ri hugged me tightly. I could feel the fear creeping out of her. It's not because of the corpse but because of maggots. She has vermiphobia, xarantophobia and scolopendrphobia. Even by just a glimpse of it, her phobia gets triggered. I guess most of the people suffer from either one of them, but sigh...this idiot suffers from all of them. Now my only goal was to get our a** outta this place and continue searching for Sam. I said to Ri, " Ri bae calm down, let's get out of here first". I could see her wet eyes. I intimated one of the policeman and we left from there. We reached our home and i sighed in relief. Today was really a hectic day. Even Riya was exhausted. She slept as soon as we came back. And after finishing some of my works i slept too because we have to resume our search for Sam tomorrow. I'm really worried so much about her....I don't know what she's going through...I only pray for her to be fine....

At around 3 am i heard someone screaming and crying. I panicked and went out to the living room. The noise was coming out of Ri's room. I rushed to her room. I got tripped as it was dark, thank goodness i did not get injured. When i opened her room i saw her having a nightmare. I went near her and held her hand and calmed her down. I cuddled her and patted her head. She relaxed and eventually drifted to sleep. she was sleeping like a baby. I sighed and decided to sleep with her today. She was having these nightmares after 2 long years. I guess today's incident triggered some of her bitter past memories. She had a really hard time 2 years ago. She has gone through hell. But she was strong. With all of our continuous effort, love and care, she's turned into a nornal person. It was not at all easy. Thinking about past things i did not know when i drifted to sleep. We slept without knowing what the future aholds for everyone of us.
