chapter 4: first meeting

Rain POV:

I look around the cafe and found it still pretty much full even if it's just 9 in the morning. It's gets more crowded in the evening.

I am not on the morning shift but since I still have two more day before school started so I thought before that I could earn some extra cash. That's why I'm doing overtime.

Everyone here is really nice. They help me in everything.and today is officially my 1st day of attending customers.

I'm not really comfortable with other but I think I'll manage. I'm still nervous.

I was still in my thoughts when a woman with a child who had a toy in his hand called for me.

" Excuse me . We would like to order."

" Alright there you go. 1st customer . Good luck Rain." Maria whispered from behind me and gave me a smile.

I returned her smile and thanked her and fastly walk towards the table.

" Welcome to lis cafe. What can I get for you, ma'am?"

Thank God I didn't shutter.

She gave me a sweet smile and ordered her food . I told her to wait a bit and went to grab her food.

After they finished and was leaving I saw that kid's toy was lying on the ground. I looked outside and found them crossing the road.

I picked up the toy and run outside of the cafe.

" Rain, where are you going?!" I heard Maria shout behind me and I looked behind to answer her while still running.

" I'll just give it back and come" I shouted back and the moment I turn towards the road I was pulled back by someone and saw a car just past infront of me.

I am totally in shock. I would have been crashed by that car just now. Tears started to well in my eyes and I looked behind to find a man who's eyes were also widen while looking at me. He just saved me.

Ray's POV:

The moment she looked at me , I don't know what happened but I couldn't tier my eyes of off her. Her big doe eyes were welled up with tears and her small lips were slightly parted. Her whole body is tensed and she's trembling.

It's actually looks cu..no wait what am I thinking.

She calmed down a bit and was going to say something maybe a thanks or something. Then my trance broke and I left her hand and went inside the cafe to join Nixon.

After we settled on our booth, I looked out side the cafe and found the girl calling for someone across the road.

She then carefully crossed the road this time and went close to a woman with a kid and give the kid his toy that I guess she found somewhere.

Then she came towards this cafe and entered inside. The girl on the cash counter asked her something with a concerned face.

Now I noticed from her outfit , she definitely works here. She's working?? Doesn't she have school? She is definitely a high school student.

She looks 15 or 16 maybe.

Wait why I'm thinking so much about a kid . Leave her be.

I thought and averted my eyes from her and focus on the menu.

Rain POV:

" Rain, what happened? Why are you looking so pale?" As soon as I entered the cafe , Maria asked.

I told her what happened and she was totally shocked that all these happened in just few minutes actually.

She was telling me to sit down and rest bit . But when I was going to refuse her we both heard someone calling for order.

I looked towards the table and found that same guy who just helped me sitting with another one who just called.

Maria went to take the order and came back to prepare it.

"I can't believe they are actually here."

Maria said with hint on excitement in her voice.

I looked at her confused and asked," you know them??"

She looked at me and said , " no only my sweetheart everyone in the university know them. And since your school is near my university I think some of your school mates also know them. They are really famous."

She finished preparing the food and served them.

When she came back I asked her who are they.

She said, " well since you came recently you don't know. The guy with the black hair you see is Nixon. He's cheerfull. So he kind of talk to everyone. And the blonde one is Ray. He is like a brick actually. He doesn't talk to anyone except Nixon. Totally unapproacable . But still...he is maybe the most handsome guy I have ever seen.they both are handsome but Ray is just a sight to behold."

I was listening to her information and looked towards them but accidentally my eyes meet with a pair of deep blue eyes.

Ray, he's looking at me. I averted my eyes quickly and was fidgeting with my fingers.

Well Maria was right. Ray is really a handsome guy with piercing deep blue eyes and sharp jaw line.

But then something cross my mind. I never thank him for saving me today. How rude of me. I should thank him. But how.

Then I thought something.

RAY POV:

I was just looking at her when her eyes met with mine and she immediately averted her eyes.

I don't know why but I can't take my eyes of her. I have to admit she is beautiful but that's a kid.

I am getting annoyed with my own thoughts now.

"Hey Ray" Nixon said while waving his hands infront of me get my attention.

" What? ". I asked in annoyence.

" What what? I calling you for a quite long now . What are you looking at?"

He said and looked behind him .

Ok he can't notice that what I was looking. He just can't . If he did then he won't stop bothering me.

So I immediately answered, " nothing . Just thinking about the work back at home."

He raised an eyebrow and looked at me suspiciously.

Of course he'll look at me like that because I never beheave like that.

I just glared at him in attempt to chance the subject and come to the point.

" Okay ..stop glaring at me. I was actually saying that since we already know these shitty gang then let's just finish it quickly and go back right?."

" Yeah.." I answered but didn't really comfortable with my own answer. I don't know why.

Then when we were almost finish and was going to get up , two cups of coffee was put on our table.

"We didn't order cof..." I was saying while looking at the cups but my words got stuck when I looked up to see who brought it.

Nixon looks confused as **** since I didn't lashed or anything else but just looked at those bluish gray eyes . She had a sweet smile on her face . Wait did I say sweet.?

The girl from before.

" Uhmm.. I actually.... wanted to thank you for ... Saving me .. "

She was saying every word slowly.i should be getting annoyed but I am surprised that I didn't. But I frowned while looking at her . She's blinking a lot and looking here and there . But Avoiding my eyes.

" So it's treat . Hope you.. like it.

Thank you for saving me .. ple..please enjoy . Thank you again." She finished and went to attend another table.

I just looked at her.

" Coffee will cooled down if you don't drink right now." Nixon said and when I looked at him he had a huge smirk on his face.

I clearly imagine what he's gonna say now.

" So that was the direction your eyes were fixed, huh?" He said with a teasing tone. I didn't like that.

" Shut up and finish all this . We have more things to do." I said with a harsh tone and glaring eyes.

" Yeah , yeah ..I know" he said and chuckled.

I just signed and looked at the coffee.. it's black. Nixon's coffee wasn't black. How did she know I liked black coffee.

After paying the bills we got out of the cafe but I still looked behind and found her attending a customer with that same smile . It's really looked good on her.

Oh no..stop it.

We got in the car and I started to drive towards my house.

Suddenly I really feel light headed.

Like all the irritation that I was feeling in my head untill is gone.

Is it because of the coffee or..????
