Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a cuckoo. She hada lovely voice. Whenever she sang a song, all animals in the forest would gather around her " Her voice is heavenly and pure. We have never heard anyone sing so beautifully" they would say. The cuckoo's voice was so sweet that the leaves and flowers danced at her voice. These animals praised her and eagerly waited to hear her sing. Even the king of the jungle, the lion was pleased too.
...Hearing all this time, the cuckoo thought "I must be divine bird! God has made me special. I am superior to all". The cuckoo become too arrogant. She started to ignore all the birds. Many birds and animals tried to advise her. A wise bird said "You are making a mistake by ignoring us. Don't be proud of your voice. Live happily with everyone else. When you are in trouble, we will help you. The winter season is about to arrive. The other bird will help you build a strong nest and store enough food for winter." But the Cuckoo did not pay any attention to his advice. One by one, the other birds started to ignore her too....
...Then, the winter came. Along with winter came snow, cold air and wind. She understood that her voice alone was not everything. At that time of trouble only friends and well-wishers helped her. She apologized to the birds and animal and said, "I have understood my mistake. I am sorry, please forgive me". The bird forgave her. And the Cuckoo , a wiser bird lived together and sang happily with the others....
