THE MAYOR

Guards came running to cell no.79, John was still shouting, yelling, and kicking the door. Jack took out the key and opened the door. John came out rushing and fell. He grabbed for the nearest guard's legs and held on to it.

“Please save me, please……He’s gone nuts. He is acting like he’s been possessed by a ghost!!!! Save me please” John cried tightening his grip on the guard’s legs.

“It’s ok we are here, where was he when you last saw him??” Jack questioned.

“He……. He was… on the ceiling wall” John went on crying.

Jack turned back to the cell. It was pitch black inside. He started throwing light from his torch all over the place. Suddenly at one point, something caught his eye on the edge of the ceiling. He lit the place and gasped with horror. His eyes widened with fear. His mouth dropped open.

It was Jeff!!!!! He was smiling, a demonic smile that could get a chill running down anyone’s spine. He hung on the ceiling edge like a spider, Blood dripping from his mouth. It was unnaturally cold inside. A rotten smell swept past everyone. Jack dropped his torch. He was still in a state of shock.

“JACK….JACK” A distant voice as if coming near to him every second, a familiar voice.

“JACK! Are you ok pal” the guard near him shouted.

“It’s a DEMON!! Where….” Jack shouted and grabbed the torch lying on the ground. He shined the same place but it wasn’t there. A wave of fear, so strong, swept past him. He couldn’t find the monster. It was hiding somewhere, ready to pounce on them. He turned the torch all around the cell room, he stayed out of the cell, on the edge of the door opening. His fear wouldn’t allow him to get in.

“Jack let's go in. Come on” one of the guards said.

“No….there’s no way I’m getting inside that room” Jack shuddered.

“Don’t be a chicken, Jack” one of the guards shouted and in no time someone had pushed Jack inside.

“No guys……” Jack started but suddenly something fell on his face. It was watery but thick. Jack wiped it with his fingers and put it to light. His face turned pale. His body went numb. What he had just wiped off his face… WAS BLOOD!!!

Tears rolled down his eyes. With a shuddering hand, he slowly lifted the torch and showed it to the ceiling. Jeff was looking down, his mouth spread wide with the same demonic laugh, standing on his leg upside down, which practically looked broken.

“Ahh haa haaa ha….” Jeff laughed spilling more blood out of his mouth.

Willy drove his car to the prison right in front of the gates. He got down from the car. The rain roaring like a dinosaur. He ran to the guards near the main entrance.

“Willy wood, I’m here to see my son. Special entrance” Willy shouted to make himself clearly audible to the guards amidst the thundering rain.

“On whose order’s?” the guard asked.

“Officer Joe. Quick it’s an emergency” Willy answered eagerly. He wanted to run in as quickly as possible. He wanted to see his son all fit and fine. He did not dare tell May about these happenings. He was too scared that she might get trauma or even worse a heart attack!! He just told her that he is going to the supermarket to buy some groceries.

“Done sir, u can go in” the guard said and let Willy inside.

“Jeffer willy is out of the cell, officer do you copy that, I repeat, he has managed to escape out of the cell, look’s like Jack’s unconscious, over and out” the guard yelled at his transceiver, gasping and panting.

“God!!!! Why are you doing this? Alert every cop in the prison. There is a prisoner on the loose. He shouldn’t get out of the prison, no matter what. Samuel send guards to each and every corner of the prison and be quick” Joe shouted.

“It’s just a regular case sir, a Prisoner running out of his cell. He’s just broke out of the cell, he can’t get through the prison. Why are you getting so worked up?” Samuel said yawning.

“He’s the Mayor’s relative!! The Mayor might also be here any moment” Joe yelled.

“HOLY SHIT!!!” Samuel screamed jumping off the chair. He took his transceiver and yelled “I want every cop on duty to look for a suspect who has just broken out from his cell. I want each one of you serious in this matter and FOR GOD SAKE DON’T MESS THINGS UP.”

“What’s happening? Where is my son?” Willy broke into the office looking worried.

“Sir, I want u to be strong. We will not let anything happen to your….” Joe was cut off by Willy.

“I asked you where is my son??” Willy shouted angrily.

“Huh” Joe sighed “He managed to escape from his cell, but….” Joe started but was soon cut off by Willy.

“What??? How can you be so careless?” Willy shouted throwing the chair next to him “You people can’t afford electricity too” Willy yelled taking out his mobile. He switched the flash on.

“Where are you going, Sir” Joe questioned Willy who started his way out of the office chamber.

“I’m not gonna waste my time heating my butt in this room with all the current and heater on, while my son is shivering in some shithole, maybe without proper roof too” Willy shouted and made his way out.

“Dammit” Joe shouted thudding on the table with his fists.

A black car drove to the prison gate, stopping right behind Willy’s car. The door opened and a tall man got down. He was wearing a cap.

“What’s your business here?” the guard asked arrogantly. He was probably too busy with his job.

“I’m here to see a prisoner” the man replied gently.

“We have got bigger problems. Just tell me your name and phone no. and I will fix an appointment someday” the guard replied showing his power’s as a gate guard.

“Ok then, Please write down my name,” the guy said.

“Be quick, I have other works to do” the guard said opening the book.

“Tom Walker” the guy introduced himself.

The guard's pen fell from his hands. His body Started shivering.

"SIR MAYOR!" he gasped.
