Chapter 02: Problems after being Isekai (02)

These past days was uneventful for the people of Ginemoux household. After the first prince left the state, no news about Luxiana getting punishment from the imperial family or her family facing a dilemma. Everyone was relaxed except for Luxiana.

She was restless for the past days trying to remembering all of the contents of the novel she read. She write all day long and thinking about the plans she needs to execute in the near future and many more.

“My lady, are you well?” Atie cautiously asked as she poured the tea into the cup before handing it to Luxiana.

“I think.” Luxiana answered emotionless. She had been in this new world for almost two weeks, she is adapting well due to the knowledge she knows from the novel. Soon she need to start executing her plans but before that she need to clear an obstacle in her way.

“Atie, you mentioned that some noble ladies sent an invitation to me?” she took a sip of the tea while looking at Atie.

“Yes, actually it started when you woke up a week ago. The madam actually denied all of it because she was worried about your health.”

Luxiana started to think. The noble ladies will send invitations even if the marchioness declined it again and again. The current marchioness of Marquis Ginemoux wasn't accepted in noble society. Luxiana's mother the former marchioness past away when Luxiana was young.

The former marchioness was very kind to Carmilla, the current marchioness. The novel mentioned that before the Marquis Ginemoux and Luxiana's mother ended up together, Marquis Ginemoux had an affair with a notorious woman. Soon that woman appeared in the life of the marquis and marchioness begging for help to take her son with them as she claimed that it was the marquis child.

Instead of getting angry, Luxiana's mother welcomed them in the marquis state. And the funny part is Luxiana's mother was blaming her husband for not controlling his desire and punished him. Luxiana's mother is one of a kind woman. Even though many disagreed and saying that it was a disgrace no one can stop Luxiana's mother from doing what she wanted.

The sad part was that the former marchioness died early and with her will the notorious woman became the current marchioness.

“She really is a practical person.” Luxiana whispered while staring somewhere. Her servant, Atie, was looking at her with curiosity.

“Atie.”

“Yes, my lady.”

“Tell mother that I want to receive all of the invitations addressed to me. I will personally declined it. And tell my father to spread a news about me being unhealthy all of a sudden. Got it?” Luxiana turned to look at Atie. Atie blankly stared at Luxiana before answering.

“... Yes, my lady.”

Luxiana looked at Atie with a questioning gaze before asking.

“Do you have any questions? If there is speak.” Luxiana took a sip of her tea at the same time Atie started to speak.

“These days... my lady, you've been acting different than usual.” Atie dropped her head as soon those words left her mouth.

‘Shit, this what I fear. Am I acting a little to different than the previous Luxiana?’

Victoria and Luxiana are two different person. Victoria's life was full of hardship in order to live in a cruel society while Luxiana's life was like fairytale story that had gone wrong in the end. Both of them are miserable in the end.

‘It's not like I can say that I'm not Luxiana and I was a soul from another dimension and occupied her body. Sounds ridiculous.’

“Atie, have you ever thought about the future?”

“The future?”

“Yes... we don't know what might happen in the future because we can't foresee it.” Luxiana was talking calmly but deep inside her she was really nervous about lying.

Luxiana peek at Atie before looking at her tea cup. She can't say what will happen in the near future. As the war between the kingdoms and empires started the Gate of Hell will slowly open. The people are not aware of it and just thinking about war and expanding their territories.

“Atie, I know you're curious but I can't say anything to you. I can only say that I am doing it for the future.”

The empire where Luxiana and her family live will soon collapse. The kingdom in the west was already planning there invasion in the empire when the empire select the new emperor. The princes will gather the noble to their sides to gain more power to fight for the throne.

Luxiana glanced at her side and saw that Atie was looking at her with teary eyes.

‘Now what did I do?’

Luxiana awkwardly smile at Atie.

“Did I say something wrong, Atie?”

“No, my lady. You're totally right, I just can't believe that the lady I serve for eight years finally snap back to reality.” Atie suddenly cried and Luxiana who is watching this was speechless.

‘Was that an insult?’

Luxiana was lost in thought while looking at Atie. After a while, Atie stopped crying and she had a determined expression on her face. It is quite scary.

“My lady, I will fulfill this order and come back.”

“Yes, yes... you can go now.” Luxiana smiled faintly and Atie bowed before leaving.

Luxiana sigh after Atie left and drank her now lukewarm tea. She gaze on the beautiful flowers in the garden before she lost in thoughts again.

The current emperor have twelve children in total and the seven of his children are prince. The emperor doesn't care about his children nor the empire at all. The one who are keeping the empire stable were the four pillars.

Divided into different tasks for the empire. The Ginemoux household was assigned to managed the ministry, the other are managing military, treasury, and external affair of the empire. Although there are several dukes in the ministry which is higher than a marquis, the Ginemoux household was still respected.

“Well, the dukes and other marquis in the ministry are all corrupt. The idiot emperor just gave them title because of their offerings but they can't even manage their own territory. What a shit.” Luxiana murmured in annoyance.

Luxiana look around to see if there are people around. She just bad mouthed the emperor, the price for bad mouthing the emperor is execution of the whole household.

“Ha, I wish Margarette is here to help me. This is tiresome.” Luxiana pick up a small dessert and eat it.

‘Now that I thought about it. I get isekai in this world after reading that novel. Perhaps... Margarette is here too?’

That was Luxiana was thinking while waiting for Atie.

She just blankly throwing the letters she received after seeing the names of the sender. Luxiana's task for today was to memorize all of the important and not important nobles in society. The one's who are loyal to Ginemoux family throughout generations and the one's who are just pretending.

“Atie, is Claire household are on good terms with our family?”

Luxiana was wearing glasses, wearing comfortable clothes, hair tied in ponytail, overall she look modest and a different aura was coming from her. Atie as well the other maids are just staring at her.

Luxiana who is not aware of this because she is reading a letter looked up and frown a little.

“Atie? Did you hear what I said?”

The maid snap back and bowed their heads after hearing Luxiana's voice.

“Yes, my lady. The Claire household had always been the partner of Ginemoux household throughout the years. Although there are some conflict from time to time...”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Hmm, that my lady... Claire household was often caught doing some illegal things in the past.”

Luxiana nodded in Atie's explanation before her gaze move to the letter of invitation on the table.

“Is Lady Parmys the daughter of Count Claire?”

“Yes, my lady.”

“Troublesome.”

Parmys Claire, the one who is obsessively in love to Luxiana's older brother. In the novel, she raped Luxiana's brother and blame him for ruining her purity. In the end Luxiana's older brother was married to Parmys and became a Ginemoux. Creating a solid connection between the two families.

‘Goddamn, I forgot that the novel I read was a 19+ novel. So shitty parts like sex are present. Wow, how I wish to kill the author of that goddamn novel.’

“How about the Count Lheazer?”

“Count Lheazer was known as an upright man. His family was also on good terms with the Ginemoux household.”

‘Compare to Claire household I prefer Lheazer household.’

“Describe Count Lheazer's family.”

“My lady, aren't you close to his two daughters?”

Luxiana suddenly froze from reading the letter. There are a lot of things going inside her mind that she didn't remembered the things she read about Lheazer family.

“Yes, they are Lady Katte and Lady Ginalda, right?” Luxiana tried to answer in a calm tone as possible. Her heart is beating fast.

“You're right, my lady. Then perhaps you are asking about his eldest daughter.”

The novel didn't mentioned that Count Lheazer had three daughters. Luxiana think for a moment before speaking.

“What about his eldest daughter?” Luxiana was looking at the letter but her mind was thinking of something else.

“My lady, his eldest daughter was once a noble lady figure for all noble ladies. But after her mother died her step mother became the countess and she suddenly disappear.” Atie explained while Luxiana nodded her head. She was still in a deep thought.

The whole day past. Luxiana asked Atie question after question about the nobles and their relationship with Ginemoux household. There are some papers in the table while the other papers are scattered around the floor.

“What are you going to do with the letters, my lady?” Atie asked, she is confuse about what will her lady do.

Luxiana stretched her shoulders before looking at the letters in the table. She pick the ones whom have worst relationship to the best relationship with her family.

A wicked smile formed on her lips.

“Do you want to know, Atie?” seeing that wicked smile on Luxiana's lips made Atie flinch as she started to hunched that her lady will do something.

‘What will I do? Simple, create problem when there is a problem.’

Luxiana's next goal is to host a tea party.
