Prologue (00)

From toddlers to teens, Margarette and Victoria were friends. They share the same likes and hates that's why they got along well. College break, the two of them are casually reading a novel whose title cannot be determined.

“This is a piece of crap.” Victoria said in a grumbling way before turning away from the book. Margarette who was still silent focused her attention on the book.

“Margarette, stop reading that book.”

“No. We need to finish it.”

“But as you can see... the story was a mess and the ending is pretty much a crappy—”

“Still we need to finish it before reading another book.” Margarette insisted and glanced at Victoria. She just sigh in defeat before reading the book as well.

Another two hours had passed before they completely finish reading the entire series of the book.

“I told you it was a crappy story. See, the ending is bad as I expected.” blabbering said by Victoria. Margarette closed the book the put it aside before laying down on the bed.

“But you know... I'm curious why the ending must be like that?” Margarette was truly confused of the ending, it was because the novel didn't mention why the female lead have to kill the remaining main character.

“Told you it was crap. A complete crap. The main characters and the side characters died one by one! And in the end the female lead have to kill the last main character! Does that make any sense?” Victoria was truly angry, it is because she likes happy ending and romance when reading a book. When a book doesn't have any romance or happy endings she will hate that book to the core.

Margarette just nodded her head as an agreement to what Victoria said. Still she was confused about the female lead and the main character's relationship throughout the story. There relationship was quite suited for lovers and there is no complication between the two of them. So why...?

“Margarette, stop thinking about that useless story and move on. There is no way you can figure out the reason why when that is not happening in front of you right?”

“Yes, that's right. I'm curious about the title and the author of this book though.”

“That author must be punish for making such a crap novel like that. Anyways, the weather forecast indicate that there will be a heavy rain later on?” Victoria asked as she stand up and grab the nearest cracker.

“They said there's a super typhoon. Unlike the other typhoons this one will cause a great damage when it landed on land.” Margarette explained.

“One of the strongest typhoon on history, I guess.” Victoria shrugged her shoulders before eating the crackers again.

Later that night. A heavy rainfall poured down with strong winds and thunderbolt.

“The typhoon sure is strong.” Victoria commented before pulling the curtains. She jump onto her bed and cover herself with a blanket.

“Aren't you going to read another book?” Margarette question her after seeing that she is holding her phone instead of book.

“No, after reading that crappy novel I lost my interest reading the rest of the books.” Victoria answered firmly.

After that short conversation they never talk again as they are busy with what they are doing. Not so long, the lights went out as the thunderbolt strike in the sky making the dark surrounding visible for a moment.

“Ha, seriously?”

“Seems like it's brownout until tomorrow.”

Victoria turn on the flashlight of her phone and stood up and to push the curtain away. She can see the white flashes in the sky as the rain pour heavier. Leaving that aside, she lay down on the bed as she turn off the flashlight.

“I'm going to sleep. Goodnight, Margarette.” Victoria said as she tucked herself underneath the blanket.

“Goodnight, sweet dreams.” Margarette pulled the blanket closed to her and close her eyes.

The two girls slowly fell asleep. At the corner, where the books are stock improperly, the unknown book whose origin cannot be determine started to emit a golden red light. That light slowly crept toward the two girls who are sleeping soundly. The light surrounded their bodies and as the thunderbolt flashed again their bodies suddenly disappeared along with golden red light. The book that was stock in the corner slowly turned into ashes.
