Thoughts Behind The Concrete Shadows

Thoughts Behind The Concrete Shadows

Feels Like Before

^^^__"**Nothing stays constant in this dynamic world. Everything is changing continuously, our surroundings, peoples & even our emotions. Everything leaves us after a time, creates memories. And memories are the only thing we have that never change with time, and never ever leave us. Our surroundings also has a part of our memories, And we can feel our memories through them.**"__^^^

^^^It's a peaceful noon of the spring in northeast India. Flowers are blooming & spreading their soft smells in the environment. And the wind is rising and carrying some dry leaves in a very beautiful way. And a beautiful melody coming from the window of Mr. Nath, is just relaxing everyone's mind who walking on the street of Kunjaban. The Kunjaban Street is always looks the same. Old fashion wooden houses of late 90s, some old Acacia trees still holding their positions, a half-abounded post office still giving their service and A rest house which is kind of different from Kunjaban's environment. It kind of always stays out of the loop, spreading a pretty different vibe in the surroundings, almost like it's trying to tell you something. The building itself is complicated, a massive two-story building structure, with four big odd pillars in front of main gate, bright red colour, antique wooden doors and sliding windows and creepy blue lighting at night makes it different from other buildings and monumental structures in the locality.^^^

^^^Ankita moved here 6 months ago. She's a 16 years old high school girl living with her Father and Grandmother. She doesn't know anyone else in this locality that closely, even don't have many friends in her school. Here from the beginning she was curious about the Rest House building. Because she doesn't observed anybody staying here since she came here. Actually, only 15 families live here in this society and most of them are very busy with their daily life. The rest house building is pretty quite and silent. Her family just come to know that, the rest house building was established here right about 9 (nine)years ago by a Foreigner, and now it's out of service for last 5 (five) years, "which stands kind of odd since it looks pretty maintained & new". It's surrounded by high walls and the main gate is always open for anyone. It's very hard to see inside without stepping inside. But, Noone seem to be interested to see inside anyway!. There's only Ankita, who seem curious about it, Her home is situated exact opposite from the rest house and she's deliberately observing it regularly from her bedroom window with her curious eyes in her free times.^^^

^^^Some weeks ago or so, an unknown person about 40 (forty) came here to live in this locality. He seems so different from other peoples around. Ankita noticed him many times now, walking on the street infront of her home. He always comes in a same getup, a deep brown coat, with blue tie, a rough long cotton pant, black casual shoes and a british hat. He always carry a old fashion camera with him. He seems always thinking something deep in his mind and somehow he might be connected with the rest house. Because he always comes in a scheduled time from noon to evening, and walk on the street for a while back and forth, and stare at the rest house. like, he's waiting for something to happen or he's here to witness something important. Sometimes, he set in the post office stairs under the shade of a full bloomed Pink Trumpet Tree & start staring at a window of second floor of the rest house.^^^

^^^That one day, Ankita wake up early morning done all her work & after the lunch, she took her sketch book and started waiting for that man on the post office stairs. She started sketching that rest house window. when she observed it closely she found the window is pretty different from other windows of rest house. Unlike the other windows which looks pretty neat & furnished, this window has some different characteristics. With a small plant pot in the corner and a small old wooden doll right next to it, the window glass is full of rendom screeches and as usual looking like it's close for many years. After some time, her sketch was nearly over when the man arrived.^^^

^^^Hey young lady, it's looking gorgeous^^^

^^^the man complimented on the sketch.^^^

^^^Oh! It reminds me my childhood hobby^^^

^^^Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!..^^^

^^^The man said, in a deep hard voice.^^^

^^^Ankita surprised, turned to him & said^^^

^^^Good Noon, Nice to meet you sir.. very thank you!!^^^

^^^The man apologized for disturbing her with a little smile on face. After that, he started his daily work walk on street & staring at the window. She had lots of questions regarding the rest house, Any why he come regularly to observe it without a single miss?? she wanted ask him. But for that time she dicided to stay quiet. She continued her sketching. After about half an hour he stopped walking and come back to the stairs^^^

^^^I know about your interest in the rest house building!^^^

^^^The man said suddenly.^^^

^^^Ankita surprised again, She didn't expected this.^^^

^^^How did he know that?^^^

^^^She thought.^^^

^^^Then, He introduce himself as an article writer in "Lucky Magazine" at Kolkata another state in north India. And his name was Mr. Indroneel Lahiri.^^^

^^^My home is just right behind the rest house, come whenever you want..^^^

^^^He gave her a business card and left.^^^

^^^It was already late evening so, Ankita also left for home.^^^

^^^behind them,^^^

^^^The rest house window suddenly started shacking and vibrating lightly, after they were gone.^^^
