Warning: May increase claustrophobia
---
It started small.
A few nurses saying Elevator 3 was “too slow” at night.
Security reporting that it would sometimes stop at floors no one requested.
Lights flickering. Cold drafts. Subtle things.
Until one night, it opened on the 7th floor.
Only, the hospital only has six floors.

Primary Witness Report:
Erika V., Nurse, 3 years in rotation.
> “It was around 2:20 in the morning. I was transferring meds from ICU to Pediatrics. I took Elevator 3—it was the only one that wasn’t under maintenance.
I pressed ‘3’, but it didn’t light up. None of the buttons did.
The elevator started going up on its own.
Floor 2… then 3… then 4… 5…
Then it stopped.
Ding.
Floor 7.
There is no floor 7.
But the door opened anyway.”
The CCTV shows Erika standing still, confused. But what security didn’t see until they enhanced the footage was a figure behind her—partially visible only when the doors opened.
A woman, standing just inside the elevator’s reflection. Wearing a stained patient gown. Her head hanging sideways—like it had been twisted completely around.
Erika said she didn’t see anyone. But she felt breath on the back of her neck.
She pressed the close-door button repeatedly. The lights flickered—then it descended again.
When the doors opened at the correct floor, Erika ran out, pale and shaking.

Other Incidents:
An intern nurse said the elevator stopped for 13 minutes with him trapped inside.
He was alone—until a voice whispered, repeatedly:
“Why did you leave me?”
A janitor claimed to have seen blood pooling in the corner of the elevator before it vanished when lights turned back on.
One doctor (name redacted) pressed floor 2.
The elevator took him to 7.
When it opened, he stepped out—and disappeared for two hours.
He was found unconscious in the morgue, eyes wide open, lips blue.
He never spoke again.

Unofficial Theory:
Back in 2004, a patient died during a transfer to surgery. She was pregnant. Misdiagnosed. Bled out alone. Nurses believe she died inside Elevator 3 on the way to the OR—but the paperwork was altered.
Since then, some say she’s still trying to reach the right floor.
And if you're alone in Elevator 3 during the graveyard shift…
She might think you're the one who forgot her.
And she might not let you leave until you admit it.
---
Now, Elevator 3 is sealed.
But security still reports hearing a ding from that shaft after midnight.
And if you’re standing nearby, you might feel a cold gust…
as if the doors almost opened for you.
