Brianne Adonis, a young woman eagerly awaiting the return of her husband, Alistor, from war, pours her heart into letters filled with love, hope, and updates about their unborn child. Each letter she sends is a lifeline, a desperate attempt to stay connected across the vast distance separating them. As she navigates the joys and challenges of pregnancy, the arrival of their baby, and the day-to-day struggles of being a military wife, she clings to the hope that Alistor will return home safely.
But when the letters go unanswered and months pass without any word from Alistor, Brianne's hope begins to wane. She battles with the growing fear that something has happened to him, but nothing could prepare her for the devastating news that arrives one fateful day: Alistor has been killed in action, just after sending what would be his final letter to her.
