Chapter 1

so, this is a story I originally wrote on my book and I've decided to post it here. drawings made by me. hope you like it

"do it! do it!" they all shouted

"b-but" she stammered

"hurry up and do it rei. you're wasting our time here" said one girl, britta, their leader.

"but what if it works? what happens then?" reiki asks

"so what if it works, it's not our problem" said another girl, lacey.

"but you're forcing me to do this" she says in a shaky voice.

"hurry up and do it. my patience is waning and that is very dangerous. it's either you do it now or we'll force you" says britta, taking out a knife.

Rei sees the knife and knows what will happen," f-fine. I'll do it"

she turns to the summoning circle drawn before her I'm blood. who's blood you ask? her's of course. these bullies bled her out and drew a summoning circle with her blood. they're trying to summon the devil and of course they're forcing HER to do it to see if it works. if it does that would mean trouble. if it doesn't they'd be disappointed, blame it on her and the least they could do was beat her up in her already weakened state, and that's the least, and leave her for the dead. she looks at the incantation on a piece of paper on her hand and takes a deep breath. then she begins reciting it:

uyuyo eochi meoli sawatdee krub ka sojulsu isseo sabiden mori korpkoon baseai gichasadee nhu krup bars bixar shuononegaiwa.

(PS: these are just words from other languages put together to sound like an incantation. they translation does not mean what I'm going to write at all. don't take it seriously)

as she recites the incantation the room begins to shake and the summoning circle glows a blinding white.rei stumbles and. falls while looking at the circle, expecting something to come out. the bullies are a safe distance away, looking on with wide eyes, waiting to see what would happen.the room stops shaking and the circle stops glowing. all rei can see is white dots from the light.the candle flames still and once again everything is calm.

"did it work?" asks lacey.

"n-no. I don't think it did," stammered rei

"rei, are you trying to tell me that we wasted our time and energy doing all that just so that you can say it didn't work," says britta threateningly, looking at me in contempt and disgust (are those two the same thing or?)

"n-no, I'm not saying that. it's just...." she isn't able to form words and has a lump in her throat as she waits for them to start beating her up.

britta looks at her quivering form and snickers "come on girls, let's go and leave this weak thing. pathetic". they sashay away, leaving her on the floor.

"at least they didn't beat me," thinks rei," better get out of here now." she leaves the room, not caring whether or not the candles should be left on. she takes one last look at the circle before closing the door and leaving. it could be handled later. after she leaves a slight breeze sweeps across the room, blowing off the candles. the array flickers and starts glowing again.

translation

I call upon thee to join and serve thou. I make an offer unto thee to stay with thy. I make thy a promise of eternal binding til thy day I sip from the cup of my demise. If i break thy promise, I'd rather die

(this translation makes no sense to me either. I am the worst at forming plausible contracts. anyway, below is the summoning circle I drew.)

(the yellow things are the candles. the snakes around the staff are the devil's symbol ig. yeah)
