"Ringgggg ... ringgggg ... ringgggg......."

Alarm clock at the side of my bed ring off and woke me up. Today is my first day at school or should I say new school. I am not sure if I feel excited to meet new friends at school especially the person who is going to sit beside me the whole year. I pushed that thought away and rushing to the bathroom before my younger sister, Sonny wake up. She always takes longger time in there than I am.

So to avoid any 'bathroom traffic jammed' happen,  I always be the first who go there early in the morning except on the weekends.

15 minutes passed, I already get ready with school uniform and school bag.

"Sonny, don't be late. I'll wait for at breakfast table, okay".

    "Okay, Nia. I will be there in a short while".

I went to dining room and saw my mother already finished prepared breakfast for all of us. A cup of hot coffee on her right hand and smile when she saw me coming.

    "Good morning Nia. where is Sonny?"

    "Morning mom. still get ready and she will be here in a short while"

    "So how is your feeling?excited?Nervous? to meet your new friends at new school?"

    " Honestly, I myself not sure mom. I'll tell you once I get home this afternoon, okay?"

    "I can't wait. I want to know everything"

As she give me a wink. I love my mother. She is a great mother that I could asked for. She always be there for me when I needed her. Oh yeah, I almost forget my best friend, Christy. She were a year younger than me. We always together at school or after. Since I were in a new school, I am  sure we are going to less meet.

"Nia, your school bus is already here". Her voice turned off my reverie. I smiling to her.

"Okay mom.See you later".

I arrived to school and go into my class with half of the student already in. However, the person who supposed to sit with me not in yet. I still not sure whether I will get a girl or a boy partner.

A few minutes later a petite girl coming towards me with a sweet smile on her face.

"Good morning. My name is Molly and I am your partner for the entire year".

"Hi Molly.I'm Sonia but you can call me Nia. Nice to meet you"

She keep smiling and give me a friendly hug before sitting. Deep down in my heart feel grateful after knowing my partner is a girl. In my opinion that time, sitting with a girl less complicated than a boy.

       The whole day goes by slowly. The class teacher only give time table for all of the subjects and asked everyone to get to know each other since today is a first day schooling. I start to memorise some of their names and characters. I only hope to survive the whole 3 years with them all. I only hope.

       Around 1330 I arrived home and my mother rushed towards me to find out if I was fine. I just gave a weak smile and started talking about what had happened since I got to school until the end of school.

"So how's school today? There must be a lot of students right? Have you found your new friend who could potentially be your best friend? How's the boy in your class? Someone had interests in you?" She thrown alot of questions until I did not know which question to answer first. "Mother, one question after another, okay? I do not know which one to answer". I laughed at my mother's behavior. However I know what questions she asked me just now and answered them one by one. My best friend Christy came home around 4 in the evening. She also thrown me a lot of questions just like my mother did.

"How is your new school?Is there any handsome guy interested in you?"

"school is okay I guess. I have a girl partner named Molly and she will be the with me the entire 3 years. Handsome boy? No. I don't realized if there is a handsome boy because I was busy with other things".

"Of course you are not aware because you are not sensitive". I just laughed at her comments. She is quite famous for her cuteness. while I am neither beautiful nor ugly. Maybe I'm in the sweet category? But my best friend says I'm beautiful and attractive. I think she just wants to makes me happy and I just let it be. We chatted until she finally returned home a few hours later.

"Good morning Molly"

"Good morning Nia"

"You have decided which uniformed unit you will choose later?"

"I already decided to choose Scouts. I fell in love with the Scouts dashing uniform. How about you? Already decide which unit you are going to pick?"

"Yeah.I am going to choose The Red Cresent. I think it suits me."

"Of course it suits you. You know what, I can predict your future. You're going to be a Healthcare personnel someday." My friend said with a big smile on her lips."

"Hahaha ... Nonsense. Anyone can be a Health personnel. If it has been determined to be a health personnel, it will definitely come true even though you are from the other unit that has nothing to do with a sick people".

" Yeah you are right about that. I agree with you on this".

30 minutes of school break time has passed. All students are busy looking for classes where briefings are given by senior students according to the uniformed team. Molly and I also did not miss finding our team.

I managed to find my team. When I arrived, there were only a few people in the class including senior students. I expect these people will be the ones who will be experienced in The Red Crescent team. While waiting for the other students to come, I was busy observing the behavior of the students who were still busy looking for the team that had been selected.

In their busy search for classes, my eyes were focused on the figure of the male student. He is taller than other students his age and quite handsome.

"Who is that student? He is so handsome" I said in my heart. I saw him enter the classroom for the Police Cadet team.

"Well, it suits him to become a member of the Police Cadet. His has a tall frame and

also good looking," I said in a monologue.

I fill in the required details in the membership form. After that I handed the form back to the senior student. "The purpose of your attendance this time is to elect committee members throughout the year" That was part of a briefing given by the interim chairman.

Election sessions and the formation of new committee members went well. I am only interested in becoming a regular member as I am still new to this team.

After the selection session is completed, all students are asked to provide the required uniform size to facilitate the distribution of white T-shirts. The shirt will be worn in every team meeting later.

The first meeting of the members of the Red Crescent association went well. I went back to class and Molly, my classmate, also went back already. We exchanged stories about the activity earlier. As Molly and I spoke, my gaze caught the figure of a handsome student standing in front of her class. He seemed to ignore the situation around him and focus on something.

"Molly, do you know the student's name?" Molly looked at the student I meant.

"That's Rayner, a sprinter. He is quite famous. Don't you know him?"

"How do I know. I've been in this school for only two days" I said defending myself.

"You are forgiven. I thought you knew. Most students at this school know him well"

"Sorry my friend. I do not know if he is quite famous as a sprinter. What I know is I like to see his handsome and mature face."

"Rayner is his name isn't he?"

"Why suddenly interested to know about him?Are you attracted to him?"

"Nonsence.. As I already mention earlier I just admire to see his handsome face.

My eyes are still on him. Suddenly he turned into my direction and our eyes met. Even though for a moment, but it felt like for eternity. We were eye to eye. I quickly turned my gaze to the other direction. I could see from the corner of my eye, he was smiling.

  I pretend not to realize. Although a bit shy but I tried to have a lively chat with Molly. She did not even notice the change in my attitude. I looked at Rayner to see if he was still in the place where he had stood before, but he was not there. Maybe he's already in his class.

"Wow ... luckily he came in. If not, I'm ashamed" I said in my heart.

As usual when I came home from school my mother was already waiting in the living room. I knew she would ask a lot of questions about my situation at school today. So before she asked, I spoke first.

"Wait a minute, mom. I change my clothes first, eat and then you can ask anything" I said to my mother. She just smiled at me.

"All right. In the meantime, I'll do something else first".

I just nodded my head before going up to my room. My sister Sonny was lying on her bed reading a storybook borrowed from the school library.

"Have you eaten Sonny?"

"Already Nia"

"Where's Steve? I can't even hear his voice" I said asking about my brother Steve. He is the second child. We are three siblings and I am the eldest child.

"Steve is still at school. It looks like there was another activity when I returned earlier. That's why I did not wait for him and came back on my own" said Sonny at length.

"Did Christy called me?"

"No, as far as I know. Try asking mama. Maybe she knows if Christy has called you?"

"Oh it's okay too. I just want to know. Maybe this evening she will come again. All right, I'll go down to eat first. I'm starving to death". My sister just smiling and nodded her head as she continued reading.

   My mother came in at the same time I finished eating.

"Ok Nia, mama can't wait to hear your story in school today"

"As usual, ma. Only today there is a selection of uniformed units team. I chose The Red Crescent"

"That is good Nia. What did your friend choose?"

"Molly chose Scout because her uniform is dashing. That's what she told me"

My mother smiled. We kept talking until Christy came to visit.

My residence is close to the sea and the beach has beautiful white sand. Every weekend there are definitely a few families outside the neighborhood coming up for a picnic on the beach. I do not like the beach conditions in the afternoon because it is very hot. I will go to the beach together with mom and Sonny in the afternoon. The heat of the sun at that time was a little less hot than noon. Usually when my mother and I go to the beach, we catch fish or even look for snails. Sometimes my best friend Christy will join as well. So today like every weekend, I take mom and Sonny to the beach in the afternoon. The purpose is to find seafood whether fish, crabs or snails. I was a bit lazy leaving the house without a purpose. Sometimes Christy complains that I am lazy to join her to the beach just to see the sea view.

"Chris, do you want to join us this afternoon to the beach? But not to see the view"

"Yes, I know that. I will come. But don't forget to stop by my house later?"

"Of course. Don't forget to bring all the necessities that can be used later"

"All right ma'am" She joked with me.

An hour before leaving for the sea I had already prepared the necessary tools. Steve, my younger brother also wants to participate this time. He felt bored alone at home.

"Children, it's time we left to the beach. Are you guys ready?"

"Yes mom" My little sister replied. Once everyone already in the car, we departed.

We did not forget to stop by my good friend's house.

"Chris let's hurry up"

"Yeah, yeah I am coming" said my good friend.

"Have you brought all the necessary equipment?"

"I think all the important things, I've already  put them in my bag"

"That is good Christy" my mother said.

Arriving at the beach, I could see some of the outsiders cars still at the parking lots. They are having a BBQ with their family members. I slowly get out of the car.

"Where are we going to start first?" I asked my mother. She's the one to decide all the decision.

"I think we start at that side today because I saw less people went there. Less people, less disturbance we get" said my mother.

We started moving towards the place that my mother had already determined. Christy walked by my side while Steve and Sonny were on my mother’s left and right respectively. A smile appeared on each of our lips. This is an activity we love so much when we are at beach.

"Take whatever you find. Later before returning, we will choose which ones you find edible and which do not. If you find crabs, use gloves and knives okay. But be careful. Do not get hurt" said my mother's.

"Alright mom".

After that, each of us went to the area where we thought there were snails or even crabs with containers to store seafood. Christy and I headed to the mileage area looking for crabs and snails. I put on gloves and started looking for snails between rocks and even in holes. I was quite happy to find some kind of big snail.

"Chris, have you got a snail?"

"I got it. It's fun to find this snail"

"Of course it is fun. There are crabs in that hole" I pointed to a crab hiding in the hole.

"Isn't that a big crab?"

"Not sure yet. I only saw the chopsticks. I'll know the actual size after I take them"

I took a sharp-edged wire and directed it to the weak crab point. After making sure my goal will successful, I poked in the middle of the crab body as fast as I could. I did it. The crab was quite big and I directly put the crab into my bucket.

"Chris, I was able to catch crabs earlier. If you want to see it then come here" I said to Christy who was busy looking for snails not far from where I was standing. She came after hearing me call her.

"Wow ... Look at the size of the crab. You caught this? Luckily you can catch a crab that is large in size like this. There must be a lot of content, right?"

"Yes, I think so too. However, this can only be confirmed tonight after I cook"

"Nia, you are very lucky. Now it is my turn to find a crab bigger than yours" She said while looking at every hole in front of her. I went on a hunt to find any edible seafood. From a distance I could see Sonny and Steve actively picking up sea snails.

"I like the atmosphere as it is now" I said to myself.

"I heard you were able to catch a big crab earlier"

"Yes I catched a big crabs. Maybe my luck to found it before anyone else, mom" She looked in the bucket and saw the crab I caught earlier.

"Wow, this crab is really big. Good job, Nia" my mother said again."

"Thank you mom"

My mother just gave me a smile. She then returned to my younger siblings. The search lasted for two and a half hours. Half of my clothes were already wet due to falling while trying to catch fish. Luckily I managed to catch the fish even though the fish was not that big. But I am still satisfied with the success. My good friend Christy is  with me when our search has reached the end of the cape.

Everyone gathered near my mother's car. We showed each other bucket of seafood. Everyone has almost the same amount of revenue. Sonny and Steve were so happy to see my bucket containing a variety of seafood.

We feel very lucky because the weather today is quite good. so the search went smoothly. After that, we left.

After bathing I helped my mother in the kitchen. my mother isolates the snails and crabs to facilitate the cooking process. When all three buckets are combined, the result is quite a lot. Half of them are stored in the refrigerator. I am very satisfied with the results we get today. The crab turned out to be very full. I told Christy about that. She felt excited about it. After dinner, we all retired to bed. That is how we spend weekend with meaning activities😉.
