Background: The only son of a wealthy business family. A confident and reliable Alpha who is protective, kind, and responsible. He’s used to being the caretaker, especially when it comes to Taehyung, whom he feels he has raised and watched over. Jungkook was in his backyard, knees in the dirt, pushing his favorite toy car along a small dirt path he had made.
It was a typical, quiet afternoon, until he heard the sound of a moving truck rumbling and the excited chatter of voices.
He looked up and saw a big truck parked next door.
The house that had been empty for so long was finally getting new neighbors.
Curious, Jungkook stood up, brushing dirt from his shorts, and walked over to the fence that separated his yard from the house next door.
Boxes were being unloaded, and he could see a family bustling around.
Just then, he spotted a boy about his age, with wide eyes and a box in his hands, staring right back at him.

Hi! (The boy called out suddenly, making Jungkook jump a little)

Jungkook hesitated before responding.

Uh… I’m Jungkook.
Before Jungkook could say anything more, Taehyung grinned and dropped the box he was holding, rushing over to the low fence.
He climbed over with surprising speed and stood right in front of Jungkook, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

What are you doing? (Taehyung asked, his gaze falling on the toy car in Jungkook’s hand)
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
I… I’m playing with my car. (Jungkook said, holding it up)

I was making a race track.
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
Can I play too? (Taehyung asked, his voice full of excitement)
Jungkook hesitated for a moment, not used to someone being so forward.
But then he nodded, handing over the toy car.
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Okay… You can have this one.
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
Cool! (Taehyung’s smile grew even wider, and he immediately sat down on the ground, pushing the car over the dirt)

Vroom! Vroom! Look at it go! 😆
Jungkook sat down beside him, watching as Taehyung made car noises, his face scrunched up in concentration.
It was funny how quickly this new boy seemed to feel at home, like they had known each other for a long time.
After a moment, Jungkook picked up another car and joined in.
Episode 03
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
What’s your favourite color? (Taehyung asked suddenly, still focused on his car)
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Uh… red, I guess. (Jungkook replied, a little surprised by the sudden question)
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
Mine’s green! (Taehyung said, pushing the car in a circle)

Green is the best! I’m gonna paint my car green when I grow up. 😁
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Why green? (Jungkook asked, genuinely curious)
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
Because it’s like grass and trees and… and frogs! (Taehyung said with a firm nod)
Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh.
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
You’re weird! (Jungkook said, smiling for the first time)
Kim Taehyung (6 Years Old)
Maybe, but you’re laughing! (Taehyung pointed out, giving him a cheeky grin)

So you must like it.
They played for hours, racing cars, building tiny hills, and laughing whenever they crashed their cars into each other.
Jungkook quickly forgot how nervous he had been about talking to the new neighbor.
Taehyung was easy to be around, his enthusiasm infectious.
As the sun started to set, they were lying on the grass, staring up at the sky that was turning shades of pink and orange.
Taehyung rolled onto his side, propping his head up with one hand.

Do you go to school around here? (he asked)
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Yeah, I go to the one down the street. I’m in third grade. (Jungkook answered)

I’m in first grade. (Taehyung said proudly)

Maybe we’ll go to the same school! 😌
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Maybe! (Jungkook said, feeling a strange warmth in his chest at the idea)
Just then, a voice called from the house next door.
Mrs. Kim
Taehyung! Time to come in for dinner!

That’s my mom! (Taehyung said, sitting up quickly)

I have to go. (Pouting Cutely)
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Oh… okay.. (Jungkook said, feeling a little disappointed)
He had never had this much fun with someone before.
Taehyung hesitated, then gave Jungkook a serious look.

Can I come back tomorrow?
Jeon Jungkook (8 Years Old)
Sure… (Jungkook said, smiling softly)

Great! See you tomorrow! (Taehyung said, jumping to his feet)
He waved enthusiastically before dashing back to his house, climbing over the fence again like it was nothing.
Jungkook watched him go, still feeling the warmth in his chest.
He had always played alone before, but now… he had a friend.
A new friend who felt like he had always been meant to be there.
As Taehyung’s front door shut, Jungkook stood up, collecting his cars and brushing the dirt off his knees.
He didn’t know it yet, but something had changed that day something that would only grow stronger as time went on.
Smiling to himself, Jungkook turned and went back inside, eager for tomorrow when his new friend, his “little tail,” would come running back.
