I plodded through the hallway, unconcerned about my surroundings. I made it to chancellor office and turned the knob of the door quietly. I said "may come in?" looking down at my feet. The man replied with heavy tone "yes you may" I walked in and still didn't look up. Then I heard the man say "so Maddy my dear what brings you here?" I pursued nervously the man looked old and concerned. I replied with stuttering "s-sir I needed s-some books and my schedule" the man smiled and said "sure Maddy you can get them I will tell Mr. Wilkins to give you everything you need". Furthermore, I smiled small "thank you sIr" with that i turned to leave and walked out of The office. the man was nice he would lend me books to study eloquent of my state. I went to staff room for my schedule from Mr. Wilkins. I heard this man was grumpy and also heard he is going to teach us math this year. Furthermore, I saw him from afar and walked up to him and asked him for my books, with a grumpy face he gave me my schedule and the books I needed I said a small "thank you" and smiled. The man rather looked blanked he nodded and left. I took a little run to my class 'I was going to be late'. Teachers here knew me as clumsy Maddy also troublesome I was good at studies but bad everything. I entered the class the teacher didn't arrive yet. I sighed in relief and sat down quietly. Likewise, I didn't have many friends, I was not talkative. I was deep in my thoughts when teacher showed up, She banged the table to with her books to get our attention. I snapped out of my thoughts and everyone was looking at her now. She continued with a fake smile "good morning everyone, i will like you all to settle down fast, but before I start there are some new students I will like you all to meet" she gestured at the door. We all heard footsteps approaching, there was a blond girl in the front, she wore black top with white strips on it and shorts at the bottom, she looked nervous but not enough to not introduce herself. She entered with a wide grin and stood in front of everyone. Teacher spoke "this is Manon D'Cruz" she bowed and teacher asked her to take seat, she searched for one. Our eyes met but looked at the back and walked off and sat down with the mean girl of the school Rachel Perry 'not a good choice I would say' I thought as I stared at them and then looked forward again. THe boy entered he wasn't nervous at all. he had golden hair his bangs covered his green eyes 'beautiful'. he was tall and thin he had a small smile on his face. Teacher introduced him as "Arnov D'cruz" he was the brother of Manon. He searched for the seat and sat down with a boy who was new as well. Adam pot, His name reminded me of a old strict man. Lastly there was a boy "James Brown" He was a goddess, His eyes blue as ocean and his black hair described the heavy weather. He entered the room with full of whispers. Teacher too was fascinated, She clapped her hands to get the classroom quite. she spoke sweetly "everyone this is James Brown, I will like you all to behave, he is the son of our trustee Mr. brown" with a slight gesture with hands she directed him to take a seat. He looked around and marched to my seat. I flinched when he spoke with his heavy yet angelic voice "is this seat taken? " . I replied with a small "no" almost a whisper. He sat down next to me.

Time flew. It was time for our dorms. we had our luggage kept in the store room so we could sort out our dorm later. as I entered the room Rachel stood with Manon with there luggage to leave. Rachel saw me and smirked she moved forward and said "So what are your plan for this time? would we escape?". I couldn't deny the fact this university was like a prison we weren't suppose to leave until our 5 years. I shook my head "we never know". She wasn't my friend but we all have went through something to be here and it was our 2 year at first year we were all kept as a prisoners 5 in one room with disgusting bathrooms and grubby rooms but this time we would be having a clean room with a single roommate. "You tried to run away last time...are you going to try again?" Her voice had a mocking tone. I took few seconds and said "I might" as a small smirk played on my lips. She wasn't shocked or surprised she nodded and walked forward "Don't expect me to cover up this time for you comrade" with that she walked out followed by manon. Rachel wasn't a bad person but the set of circumstances made her do things she never wanted to, she was my roommate with the other 3 we had a good time together but when we were pressured to study hard and get good grades. She started to bully others to do her work. She wasn't bad to me despite of that i wanted run away. She helped me and covered up for me but I wonder if 'this time will she?'. I took a slow walk to the dorm it was like a small alley with rooms on each side. It was a girl dorm you could smell the fragrance of perfumes and could heard the giggles. my room was... 19. I turned the knob of the room in edginess. Only to get greeted by silence the room was a bit dark. I entered the room with a smile to greet my roommate. She looked dull, she had brown hair reaching down to her waist, she wore a sweater in black with baggy jeans in blue, she didn't looked very happy. I spoke looking at her "hey". She looked up to meet my eyes, Her eyes had the gray and green shade perfect gradient she replied with small "Hi". I posed "how are you" she replied with a whisper "i am fine", The room was silent or i wouldn't have heard what she would have said. Her pale and circle under eyes said otherwise. I didn't talked further I kept my thing in there place and sat down on my bed. My roommate was sleeping, the moonlight coming from our window hit her hair and it shined bright brown I stood and went close to her bed and sat down looking closely at her ,she had small freckles around her nose and a flawless skin somewhat her pale skin suited her well her features were beautiful then a inner voice of me said 'are you a freak, what if she wakes up' I stood up and sat down on my bed silently, the window was just in between of our beds the room wasn't big it was small with separate beds and study tables. I was glad I had a beautiful roommate. I still didn't knew her name but I definitely knew one thing we are the opposite of each other.

I woke up with sunshine hitting my face I rose up and stretched my arms and legs I took the blanket off me. I saw my roommate on her desk writing on something. I crouched down and stood beside her trying to read, She flinched at the sight of me, She spoke "oh. you are awake, sorry I was writing an application for yesterday I didn't came to class I was really tired to attend the class" she said with the flatness in her voice. she went back to writing. I told her it was alright and went to freshen up it was still early for the university, University started at 8 and it was 6 currently I walked out of the room to washroom. there weren't much of the people we all shared the same bathroom with different stalls, I started brushing my teeth and went to bath later. I went back to my room to see my roommate lying on her bed with the book in her hand. I spoke with beam of bright side of me "hey what's your name?" she replied without looking at me "Eveline Pot" my eyes widened slightly, I spoke with a surprise in my voice "you are the sister of Adam pot?" She shook her head. 'She wasn't her sister maybe a relative then?'. She spoke again "I am not his relative either " as if she read my mind. "oh- alright" I replied. I sat on my bed with thump, I was bored I shouldn't have woke up this early. I stared at the ceiling and told Eveline, "I am bored would you like to play something?" she replied "no" I looked at her and she gave me 'trying not to smile' look on her face. I rose and took a little run to her bed and tackled her down sat on the top of her and tickled her, her laughed filled the room. we bound up quickly after that moment. the university started and we all rushed through the corridors i held hands with eveline so we wouldn't get lost in the rush. when we entered the class it was rackety whole class was in chaos. we both took a seat near the window next to each other. I had appearance soft I had long black hair with green eyes, I had a small face that suited my small body well. I had my hair open making them free fall on my shoulder to my hips, Yes they were long and straight and black as ever. I wore a white crop tee with pastel blue short. I looked at Eveline she was looking out of the window she looked as beautiful as ever the sunlight making her eyes perfect gradient while her brown hair turned reddish shade the sun really did the great work. I was admiring her when the Teacher arrived She slammed the books on the table and everyone went silent "Good morning everyone" with the fake smile she always pull she continued "Everyone take your seats". Everyone did as they were told to we were not allowed to disobey our Teachers it was said that if we didn't listen to them we will be thrown in self mental care it was said whosoever goes in this room they never come out sane. they weren't just rumours we had last year people thrown into it and never coming back. we were scared. We scared the SMC. The classes started and went by smoothly with Eveline by my side it wasn't that lonely after all.
