They have two offsprings, one son and one daughter. Their daughter Jiang Yanli, is married to Jin Zixuan of Jin Sect of Lanling so the Jiang's have good relationship with the Jins. Their son Jiang Cheng is the heir to their Sect.

The smaller part of Yunmeng, called Hubei is ruled by Wei Changze, Jiang Fengmian's close friend. He has a wife, Wei Sanren and a son Wei Wuxian, who will be the heir.

The larger part of Yunmeng, is partially under our control because of a peace treaty signed by the late Emperor. The smaller part, Hubei is independent of any external rule.

As Yunmeng is mostly surrounded by water, our battling techniques which require solid grounds to start with may fail miserably against them.

Meng Yao bowed and Lan Wangji nodded, permitting him to sit on his assigned sit.

The Emperor then spoke to the Council.

It's better if we put forth a proposal instead of starting a battle. The odds are against us.
Minister
Yunmeng, Jiang's is a strong Sect occupying a large area outside our Empire.
Minister
Even if we decide to handle this by force, it's difficult to penetrate their defence. But of the partial control, we may be able to somehow enter but however fighting a battle on unknown grounds may prove disadvantageous.
The Council members nodded as it sounded fairly reasonable.

Marriages are a part of resolving disputes between the Sects. We can also propose a marriage if the Emperor would have wanted to.

Your Majesty is already of age. However this option is invalid since the only daughter of the family is already married. So this leaves us with only two options. Either to negotiate and ask them to give up the rulership or take it by force.
The Council became silent as there was no more option over the given situation.

I don't think the untamed Jiang's will give up their ownership so easily.

The rest is up to the Emperor to decide.
The Emperor in his light blue robes was thinking deeply. His face expressionless and his aura cold. After a while, he spoke with a dignified tone.

All the council members straightened up.

We will be taking Yunmeng under our control by force.
There were a lot of surprised faces while the others were confused.

I myself and a few of the trusted soldiers will be coming with me to Yunmeng in disguise. We will be studying the region and try to find a blind spot for our soldiers to infiltrate, prior to the battle, without any prior knowledge to the enemy so that the Jiang's won't even have time to retaliate back.
All the Council members were now stunned. Some agreed while some didn't but didn't dare to voice out their rejection. This plan was definitely risky.

You have been my family's trusted advisor. My father and my Elder brother used to praise highly of you. I expect you to handle things in my absence.
